Simple Hotel w/o "Spring Break" atmosphere

Posted Aug 23, 2015
Pros: Small feel, great staff & can see why you have a "regular" stayer that has spent countless nights there.
Cons: Hotel does need a good renovation and a few natural pest control systems. Did go in the height of humidity season so was to be expected.
Location: Location was perfect. 5min walk to the Mall, even walked to town. Beach is pretty much at your doorstep.
If you are looking for multiple pools, lots of partying, fighting for a spot in the hot tub, having to book a reservation at the "nice" restaurant and different staff every day...THIS IS NOT THE HOTEL FOR YOU. Now if you want that small, relaxing resort feel without all the chaos, this is the perfect place for you. My wife and I have stayed at a few different resorts Big & Small. This is one of the few that we will definitely be coming back to. This is a low cost alternative, so do not think you are going to see large columns and marble floors. You will have staff that will remember your name after only a few minutes, you will see the same staff every day and even the the General Manager himself make sure you have what you need. The bartenders remembered your favorite drink and multiple liquors to choose from, not just a small list of drinks. No need to reserve a beach chair or water sport. Good assortment of foods, had more common items for those not used to island foods. I only had 1 meal that I could not eat and the staff has no problem cooking something up in the kitchen. Pan-handlers are on the beach as well as walking into town. Hint: Greet them, politely decline their offer and leave with a hand-shake, fist bump or high five. You will see the same people most of the time and they remember. If you are interested, make sure to get price up-front. Like I said walked into town. Not a quick trek, but heading to the residential stores will save you money.

Garden side room

Posted Aug 11, 2015
We had a garden side room which is across the street from beach side. There are crossing gaurds 24/7 which was nice. Everyone needed to have a bracelet to be allowed on property. con: AC did not work despite many calls to front desk. Room did not get clean sometimes until after 5:00pm. Made management aware of concerns they were friendly and resolved situation.

Grand Pineapple By The Sea

Posted Jun 24, 2015
Pros: The hotel is located in a good spot on Negril's beach near downtown. You get to know the staff very well and meet other visitors.
Cons: The food for lunch and dinner could be improved. I would have preferred to have more caribbean flavors to the burgers.
Location: The hotel is within walking distance to Negril's Time Square shopping center. The town center of Negril is a short taxi ride away.
The hotel is located in a good spot on Negril's beach. You are one stop light from Negil "Time Square" shopping location. In addition, the hotel is next to two shops if you decide you want to see a Jamaica food shop. You are not far from Negil's downtown area. The hotel setup is actually nice. The limited number of rooms allows for visitor to get to know each other and the staff very well. You will not feel as though there is a crowd on for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. You can easily pick any table you want. The beach is not crowded as well. You can rent kayaks and small personal sail boats for free. The food and service is good. The hotel does not serve local cuisine daily. But for the price of the hotel, you can still home go off site and get Jerk chicken, ox tail, beef patties, lobster and not spend a lot of money.

Great hotel on the beach with excellent staff

Posted Jun 5, 2015
Pros: Food, bar, location, staff and other visitors!
Cons: It would be great if wifi was free. Also I think some of the room amenities could do updated, like the windows in the bathroom
Location: The location is great and the 7 mile beach in Negril is amazing. There are a lot of vendors selling on the beach though so beware of walking the beach
My boyfriend and I stayed at the Grand Pineapple for 5 nights/6 days. The hotel is right on the beach and has an amazing view from the restaurant/bar. The food was great and not repetitive for only having one restaurant and Chef Craig was awesome and helped with accommodating my food allergy. The staff and people really made this vacation amazing. All the staff were friendly, helpful and just amazing. George, the security guard is amazing at keeping away unwanted vendors, he also is so friendly, you can't help by smile. Gregory, our bartender, always greeted us with a smile and made great drinks. Richard, who helped during meals, we great and we even got to play ping pong with him. Courtney the Carver is right on site and does the most wonderful wooden carvings. We got a custom one from him in less than 2 days! The hotel has themed nights with live music every few days, a market with other custom handmade items once a week. They greet you with a cold drink and facecloth when you check in. The beach, pool and all the facilities are kept in great shape. We had so much fun using the water sports equipment and games available when it rained. We met many great people who were staying here since the resort is so small, you really get to know everyone. This was truly a great all-inclusive deal with some of the nicest people you will ever meet including staff and other visitors.

Resort is great for the money!

Posted Apr 5, 2015
Pros: Not a lot of rooms, and in the middle of the seven mile beach.
Cons: Get a mini bar on the garden side, where the pool is located.
Location: In the middle of the seven mile beach in Negril. Many things to see and do along the beach.
We stayed on the garden side. Very quiet, clean rooms. Down side we had to cross over to the beach side for the beach, food, and drinks.
