Great staff and grounds!

Posted Nov 12, 2015
Pros: The bar staff and the grounds.
Cons: New carpet!
Location: Easy drive to the Cliffs of Mohr and a couple of exits from Bunratty Castle.
The Exterior and grounds of the hotel are gorgeous. The staff, particularly housekeeping and the bar staff (Danny, Alex and Ryan) are super friendly and wonderful. The hotel is beginning to show its age and could use some refurbishing, particularly the carpet. The overall experience was great and we on return would make more use of the hotel's unique facilities like the falconry, complimentary bikes, and the archery and clay shooting. We aren't golfers but the course looked gorgeous!

Castle Visit

Posted Sep 22, 2015
Pros: The estate was very pretty & it was close to Shannon Airport.
Cons: I didn't feel like I was staying in a former castle.
Location: Just stayed one night so that the airport access was easy. Lots of activities on site.
Beautiful estate. Not much of the original feel of the castle; more of a sense of staying in a Disneyland lake property in a restored castle era. Staff was pleasant, food was good, furnishing in the rooms was nice. Overpriced for the value.

Bucket List Vacation

Posted Mar 20, 2015
Pros: It was close to Shannon Airport, grounds were beautiful, service was excellent, food was excellent and price was very reasonable.
Cons: I wish the gift shop was open before 10:00 a.m.
Location: Very close to Shannon Airport and Bunratty Castle, driving distance to Cliffs of Moher, Dingle, and Galway. There is plenty to do on the grounds too.
We stayed for 2 nights and loved it, they upgraded our room and staff/service was outstanding! The grounds were so beautiful that leaving was difficult. With many activities available we could have easily spent all our time on the property but there were many other places in Ireland we wanted to get too. There were many choices for dinning which were excellent and so was breakfast.

Unfriendly receptionist-Huge bill no breakfast inc

Posted Jan 29, 2015
Pros: the gardens aren't well maintained
Cons: If they are advertising trough an agent they should have the same promotions that they offer in the hotel website. Is disappointing
Location: nothing
The receptionist was unfriendly since we arrive. We didn't know that booking through expedia the breakfast wasn't included. The hotel never mention the condition neither Expedia. We booked a room for € 259 per night and we were really surprised that the breakfast wasn't included. Really bad taste, I'm not using Expedia again nor going back to Dromoland Hotel.

Beautiful golf course and surroundings

Posted Sep 15, 2014
Pros: the setting
Cons: considering the cost of staying there it could be updated
Location: golf course, putting green , driving range, practice bunkers, boating lake and many fine walks
very impressive mock style castle, in a wonderful setting, with lovely boating lake and a beautifully manicured 18 hole championship golf course within the grounds

Fantastic experience

What an amazing place. The grounds and castle are beautiful. The staff is exceptional and super friendly. The service and personal touches were great. Room was amazing and they even had a US style outlet. Dinner sitting in front of a fireplace in the Gallery is an experience not to be missed.

Amazing beautiful hotel and grounds

Posted May 7, 2013
This hotel was amazing. We received a complimentary upgrade to a higher room. It was up a small circular flight of stairs so maybe not for everyone but we loved this. It made it feel like we were really living the castle life. The rooms were beautiful and clean. The staff was very friendly and attenitive. We had dessert and drinks in the lounge area by the fireplace and it was so relaxing. Definitely would recommend to everyone if you can afford the splurge.

Relax and Dine at Dromoland

Posted Aug 4, 2012
Pros: The dining experience with live harp music playing with every sumptuous bite.
Cons: I expected the breakfast to be included.
Location: Great location: 15 minutes from Shannon Airport.
When John greeted us with: "Cead mile failte" and I translated it to my husband, I felt RIGHT AT HOME. It was indeed a warm welcome to the beautiful castle. The entire relaxing Dromoland experience was quite fitting after a busy family reunion in Mayo.

Great Place

Posted Jul 15, 2012
Pros: Everything about Dromoland was great.
Cons: No remote in the room for the weather. :)
Location: Nice location. Grounds are superb
Everything about this place was great. The staff, the room, the grounds. One of the nicest places I've ever stayed at. Very much worth the money.
