Nosara 2-bedroom condo
These are not separate villas and they are not new (as advertised). There are 16 condos; 8 (4 second floor and four ground floor) on each side of the drive. It is a gated community: gate open during the day, guard at night. There is only a short walk to the beach and beautiful sunsets. Also a short walk along the beach are 3 beach front restaurants which we enjoyed for breakfast and sunsets. The beach is rocky. There are a lot of good/great restaurants in the area: some reasonably priced, and some pricey. The roads are gravel, and are VERY bad. You will definitely need a 4-WD drive vehicle. Tuk-tuk drivers are also available., but it’s a dusty ride. Everything is covered with dust from the roads. We had an individual with asthma and this was an issue. To check in, you have to call the manager, which we did not realize when we first arrived. So have Hans phone number handy and be prepared to make an international call. Hans was very responsive once we figured this out. The condos are very spacious, with reliable basic amenities (A/C, plumbing, water). We stayed in #8, upper level. It is in need of repairs and updating. Broken lamps, ceiling lights that don’t work, shower heads should be replaced (very hard water), dishwasher out of order, safe wouldn’t work etc. The pool is good size; has an arbor built across it, and was constantly littered with leaves, despite the fact that the manager cleaned it several times a day. Also the tiles at the bottom of the pool are coming loose. There was a VERY small grill that was falling apart, so we were unable to grill anything during the month that we stayed there. The kitchens were equipped with the basics, but all kitchenware was well used. Housekeeping is available; it is an extra charge. We had a good time, went with 2 other couples. We all rented separate “villas”. Some of the other units were in better repair than # 8.
