"We visited for 4 days and stayed a 5th day so we could get another day of skiing in. We were comfortable, the place was heated, warm, cozy and away from everything which is what we wanted. There’s a store in town (Reeds) where you can grab groceries, Redding is a half hour away, Shasta 1.5 hours. Peace, quiet, Serenity, good for the kids to run around. Plenty of firewood for the old school stove. Beds cozy. Office nearby. Hottub wasn’t overchlorinated which was nice. They should make it lighter...

"I stayed at Cottage #2 in Shingletown Bigfoot Camping. It was a quaint, quiet, and cozy stay. If you’re looking for 5-star hotel conditions, this isn’t the place for you (yes, the old wood floors do squeak a bit!). But if what you want is a peaceful, inviting, and restful getaway, this little cottage might be just right. It was perfect for us — we cooked simple meals, relaxed in the living room by the wood stove, and explored the beautiful surroundings, including Lassen Volcanic National Park....

"I’ve always driven through shingletown on the way to see my folks. This is the first time I’ve taken advantage of the beautiful surrounding are. The living Springs resort was absolutely the best experience. The Host was exceptional and his crew so nice and just outright pleasant. I would recommend this place to anyone and everyone. "Well, it did not feel like a resort. It was mostly like a trailer park with tents, cabins and trailers. I think the property needs to have a landscaping consultant to evaluate and redesign it to feel more like a resort. Also hard to find entrance off Hwy44 at night as the sign is faded and without any lighting."
