    Historic vacation home in Oliva
    Oliva is an unspoilt market town which is in the 'Oranges and Lemons' region of Valencia, midway between Alicante and Valencia, on the southern tip of the Costa del Azahar. The house is just 8 minute's drive, or a 30 minute walk, from the magnificent unspoilt blue flag beaches, which stretch for 10 kilometers. Oliva is in the heart of Spain’s orange-growing region and benefits from a very temperate climate. The townhouse is in a quiet cul-de-sac where you can park, near the iconic San Roque square with church, bars and supermarket. Upstairs - the townhouse has a large double bedroom with king-size bed and exposed wooden beams, Bedroom 2 with bunkbeds and air conditioning, a modern well-equipped bathroom with shower, toilet and bidet. Downstairs there's a spacious lounge with TV, DVD, selection of books and DVDs and tourist information to help you enjoy your visit. The lounge also contains a large bed settee which can sleep another 2 people comfortably. The dining room is equipped with a table and six chairs and a cosy wood burning stove for the chillier months. The well-equipped kitchen has a gas hob, electric oven and fridge-freezer. The large roof terrace has good views over the town, San Roque church with its blue domes, the mountains, and the sea. The terrace has outdoor dining furniture, sun loungers and a Weber barbecue. The house is not suitable for wheelchair users. Places to visit in the area include Oliva Nova golf course and spa, Xativa Castle, Denia, Javea, Gandia, with the famous Palace of the Borgias, historic Valencia and Alicante, Jalon Valley wine trail. Activities include walking in the nearby nature reserve, horse-riding, kite-surfing at one of the premier sites in Europe, cycling or just chilling out on the beach with a good book and visiting the beach bars (xiringuitos) in the summer months. There are good local restaurants serving traditional Valencia food and tapas, with very reasonably priced lunch menu (menu del dia) for as little as 9.5 euros for 3 courses and a bottle of wine. 80 km from Valencia airport, 100 km from Alicante Airport.

      Lovely property!

      We had a lovely time at Sue’s property in Oliva. The house is fantastic, really spacious and well equipped with everything we (and our kids) needed. The roof terrace was great and the sunset views are gorgeous. We found driving through the old town right up to the property tricky as it is so narrow, but found lots of places to park at the bottom of the old town so left the car down there each day. The town is a good location to visit some of the bigger resort towns along the coast nearby, and also easy to get to Valencia. Thanks for a great week!
