    The Perfect Retreat!
We so enjoyed our return to Mattapany Farm! We love the property, and the improvements being made - especially the NEW kitchen! The backyard/waterfront area is truly magical, especially at sunrise & sunset. We spent many relaxing hours on the screened porch observing the sheer beauty of the surrounding nature. We were fortunate on one rainy afternoon to spot 3 Bald Eagles soaring down from the nearby treetops and catching fish in Parkers Creek. At first we couldn't believe our eyes, but were able to confirm it with the binoculars in the house. We also enjoyed a couple evening campfires with the firewood supplied by Capt Pat. (Also a great addition!) We have been quarantined on the Island of Manhattan for the past 6 months and were looking for R&R and a private place to call our own, if even for just a week. We found it all, and so much more, at your lovely family's home. We look forward to returning in the future - hopefully at a time when we can bring some loved ones with us too!

    Family Vacation
A great retreat for 4 generations of family. Lots to do in and around property. The proximity of the main house & guest house offered additional privacy. Capt Pat shared his local knowledge of the area and access to activities in the Bay. We had a great week - thank you!

    Great Getaway
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Mattapany Farm. Our group consisted of multiple families traveling with children and dogs. We were looking to disconnect, and this was the perfect place to do so. We spent most of our time outside enjoying the weather and water. The kids enjoyed the water off the dock, taking out the kayaks into the creek and floating around. The tree swings & hammocks were a simple, yet perfect, amenity to allow us to sit by the water. The large firepit provided a nice centerpiece at night. Mrs. Anne was very friendly in our communication and quick to reply to my questions prior to our arrival. Captain Pat, the property caretaker, was nothing short of great. He arrived within minutes when I contacted him about an issue, and took the time to introduce himself and gave us a brief history on the house and info on the surrounding area. He even painted and hid a rock for the kids to find, which they really enjoyed. The home itself is undergoing gradual updates, while preserving the home's character. We would definitely visit this home again, and if you're looking to disconnect and enjoy some time on the water, I recommend this property.

    Wonderful Venue for Family Gathering
We rented this property to throw a surprise birthday party for my mom, who lives nearby in East Point, and it couldn't have been more perfect. We had quite a few family members staying on the property, most from out of town, so having both the main house and the cottage to work with was ideal. The party was great by all accounts, and we were very happy with our stay. We'll definitely be renting the property again in the warmer months to get the family all together again!

    3/5 Okay

    Spacious accomodations, needs some TLC
The farm is beautifully situated along the water and the houses have plenty of room, but the property is in disrepair and needs some TLC. The wallpaper in rooms is peeling off the walls, carpets are stained and furniture is torn, stained and dirty. When we arrived the washing machine was broken and we were unable to wash laundry for the entire time. The water in the smaller house was leaving rust stains on people's skin and clothing. It appears to be an ongoing problem since rust stains were inside the washing machine and showing up on the tub. The kitchen floor has a five inch slope! ☺ you could literally roll things down the floor from one end of the kitchen to the other. We like to try new places, but were sad to see the houses in such need of repair and were disappointed. We paid hard earned money anticipating nice accomodations for our vacation, hope they invest some of it into repairs.
