"place was conveniently located and gated parking but the spaces are super tight. room was fairly clean but the only issue was that they kept saying they were going to change the sheets over a 5 day 4 night stay and they were never changed even though we were told they were going to do but they never did. We had to call the manager and request a sheet and bedding change but he just brought sheets. Also the manager, Dru who lived there was a little creepy and my mom & niece felt like he was watching them. Not the best experience but for the price and convenient location to my house, it’s ok i guess."

"Great place if you’re visiting the Berkeley area or Cal in general. In walking distance of everything Cal related with great local spots everywhere. It’s a very old hotel and they have leaned into that, so if you want somewhere modern this isn’t for you, but if you want a piece of Berkeley history I highly recommend. "

"I would like to give a special thank you to Hannah at the front desk for her exceptional service. Although check-in was scheduled for 3:00 PM, we arrived around 11:00 AM simply intending to drop off our bags. She graciously accommodated us with an early check-in at no additional cost and provided us with a room featuring a beautiful view overlooking the city. The rest of the staff were equally friendly and welcoming throughout our stay. The hotel itself was clean, well-maintained, and very aesthetically pleasing. However, the fifth floor did have a noticeable musty odor, reminiscent of old or stale cigarette smoke. Additionally, the bed was quite firm, which may not suit those who prefer a softer mattress. The restaurant experience was average. While the staff were attentive and kind—kind enough to remove a drink I didn’t enjoy from the bill—the food and beverages did not particularly stand out. Overall, despite a few minor drawbacks, we had a positive experience and would consider staying here again in the future."

"Check in was fast, everything but the floor was spotless, the beds were so so soft and perfect, I wish I had one myself. My only concern was that the listing said it was two bedrooms, which is a bit inaccurate. The twin bed is actually on the back porch so it isn't private or very safe with the back door right there, especially since some of that door in particular needs some handiwork or an extra lock. Overall this is a beautiful well-kept house in a beautiful neighborhood. "
