RV DISCLAIMER
RV camper homes have some lifestyle challenges you may face; and you should know about them so that you are better informed. Of course, adjusting to the smaller space will make it worthwhile to experience the full potential of this lifestyle.
We highly recommend setting realistic expectations and being prepared to anticipate lifestyle challenges when they happen. RVing is not just one long camping trip filled with endless wiener roasts and marshmallows.
The entrance to the RV camper home has a set of metal steps. It is not handicapped accessible. The typical living space is under 400 sq. feet. RVs have more storage space than the typical tiny house, but the living space and features are still much more limited than the typical brick and mortar home.
In an RV camper home, temperature control can be tricky, if not done right. Remember, the floor is open to the elements below, and you may need to adjust the temperature periodically.
The bathroom sinks can be considerably smaller than those found in regular-sized homes. Appliances in the kitchen, and dinner tables are also smaller.
Whether you’re in an RV or your home, you will never have access to an unlimited amount of electrical power. If you stay under the amount of available wattage, your circuits will run smoothly. Exceed your available wattage, and you’ll trip the RV electrical system’s circuit — which you may know first-hand if you’ve ever tried to run your microwave and hair dryer at the same time! Should this happen, flip the GFI in the bathroom located to the right of the sink.
RV plumbing differs greatly from standard residential plumbing; however, this plumbing system sends the wastewater into the two temporary holding tanks. They store the waste until this system feeds into the sewer network. If your stay is longer than 5 days, opening the value release to both waste and grey water may need to be done to avoid smells or water accumulation in the shower floor. This is normal in an RV because it is not moving down the road agitating the waste tank. They are located on the other side of the RV in the second container. Values are marked and should be one at a time (NEVER all three at the same time).
