4/5 Good

Cozy home in a great location!
This is a lovely townhouse in walking distance to the famous art museum's Rocky Steps. The neighborhood is charming, and the property well-kept. For our family of four, it felt tight--especially without a place large enough for us to all sit together. There is no table big enough for four people--maybe a card table and folding chairs could be kept in the basement, as some other properties have done. Also, the kitchen lacks a pot large enough to make pasta. We would have been hard-pressed to make meals there other than breakfast. Overall, the home is lovely, and the back patio would be fun to dine on in warmer weather. The host sent us all the info we needed to get around the area, including good tips on parking and local eats.

Great location to see Philadelphia
This property is located in get spot in Philadelphia. Close to the art museum, Eastern State Penitentiary which is now a museum, close to downtown so easy to explore All things Philly. The property has a lot of character and a nice fenced in back yard. I would definitely stay here again.

2/5 Poor

Dirty Apartment, Poor Communication
Our experience was consistent with other poor reviews, and messages from the owner ceased entirely after I contacted him a second time about these issues: 1) Advertised as non-smoking but the place (and now all our stuff) smelled like cigarette smoke and there was a butt in the bathroom sink drain; 2) Garbage bags piled next to and on top of the can on the poor quality back deck with a squirrel who would come and root through it a couple times a day, along with a ton of leaves and gardening stuff strewn about; 3) General uncleanliness (sticky wood floors, tons of dust and dirt under the couch, grimy shower curtain, random garbage under the bed in the rear bedroom, rust on the tub drain and bathroom ceiling light, peeling paint and scuff marks throughout, missing baseboard in living room); 4) Unrepaired water damage clearly evident on the first floor ceiling; 5) Basement that looks like a dumping ground complete with a set of random clothes in the dryer; 6) Front door handle keypad is broken; 7) Broken blinds in the front facing bedroom. Not worth the money, and these issues are clearly ongoing and unresolved based on previous reviews. The only thing this place has going for it is the location. Otherwise I’d stay away.

2/5 Poor

Fix this apartment before renting it out again
A lovely quiet location with a private patio with potential. However, it is neglected and should be fixed before rented again. Not safe! Locking mechanism on patio door is broken off. Patio gate to alley is not locked. Alley gate to street is not locked. My son walked into the apartment from the street through the back. Baseboard detached from wall in living room, lying there. Kitchen cabinets hang from a single hinge. Mattresses are FULL-SIZED, not queen, in my opinion. Concave and should be replaced Sloppy, unclean, forgotten: - Overflowing garbage on the patio upon our arrival. Trash in the "garden", garden debris on patio. Cigarette butts in patio fireplace chimney (no smoking?) - A full load of dirty dishes in dishwasher upon our arrival - Someone's garment bag in the closet - Towels not replaced: 5 bath towels, 1 wash cloth, no hand towels - Petty but shows lack of care: all clocks are not working or have wrong time, depleted candles, hanging baskets in front and back are not planted and full of weeds and decay - No plunger - Sticky floors - Unwashed rug and throw

Night in Philly
Nice, clean place in wonderful location! Very dog friendly neighborhood, restaurants with outdoor seating and a bunch of parks nearby. 10 minute walk to Rocky statue/stairs and 30 minute walk to walk to heart of downtown.
