My spouse and I sought a brief escape from daily routine in Philadelphia and opted to stay at a hotel close to our desired destinations. The hotel in question had a 5-star rating, and we anticipated a luxurious, contemporary accommodation. However, upon arrival, we were disappointed to find that the exterior entrance was littered with trash, including used masks and tissues thrown into nearby planters, and there was debris on the ground. Additionally, the room's decor was outdated, and the air quality was compromised by the accumulation of dust in the vents, which caused my spouse and me to experience severe allergies.
Furthermore, we encountered an issue with the customer service when we paid for breakfast as part of our reservation. Unfortunately, we had to leave early in the morning, and it was too soon for us to use the breakfast credit. We requested a refund through Expedia, but no one from the hotel addressed the matter, resulting in our loss of funds. For a hotel with a 5-star reputation, such an experience is unacceptable.
