1/5 Terrible

I’m not usually one to go out of my way to write a bad review, but I wouldn’t want anyone to have an experience similar to what we did. My fiancé and I drove to TN from Indiana for a funeral. We had both gone to gatlinburg as kids and loved it, so we figured we would try to make the best out of the trip to TN and rent a cabin for a couple of nights. We get there, and immediately it’s easy to tell that the place isn’t as nice as it looks in the pictures. It just got worse from there. There were dead wasps and flies on the floor, in the sinks, etc. There was also a live wasp flying around the inside of the cabin. There were nests and bird poop all over the big glass windows. On our way to the condo, we had gotten no communication about how to check in, the only email we got was that the fridge was broken and to expect a visit from maintenance at some point during our stay. Well, the reason the fridge didn’t work is probably because it’s legitimately 30 years old - outside was covered in mold and filthy. The range was 30 years old itself. There were cobwebs all over the place inside and the outside was even worse - it was easy to tell nobody had been there to clean or even check on the place all year (even in a pandemic). When we got there, the toilet was broken. We walked in to a flooded bathroom. We dried the mess up with paper towel and I did my best to fix it, but I’m not a plumber by any means. We called maintenance and they were to send someone out to fix it ASAP. We go into town for 5 hours, get back at 5 PM, and it hasn’t been touched. So we call them again (you have to wait on hold for half an hour each time you call this place to get someone to help). This time they say we will have someone out within the hour. We ran to get some food and came back to find that someone did come, but they didn’t fix anything. In fact; they took the toilet apart and left parts all over the place, left a trash bag full of wet paper towel on the floor, and left the bathroom soaking wet - it was disgusting. The fact that anyone could leave a bathroom like that for a guest to come back to BLOWS MY MIND. So we call maintenance once again, they tell us someone will be back within the hour - we fell asleep waiting for someone. So neither of us were able to use the restroom. Thinking this is a persistent problem, as you could hear the subfloor squishing when you stepped on tiles We got some money back, but I wouldn’t stay here again if someone paid me to.
