Nice place too relax.

Good size resort not too big. Beach was great. Lots of shade from sun under palms. Sand nice and white. Water crystal clear. Just seaweed but it could be push away. Food and drinks were all good,pizza great, variety was good. Waiter's and bartender's were all very friendly service very good. Hotel property very clean. Rooms were good cold AC, kept clean. Front desk on check-in was a little chaotic. But overall great place too stay

Cons: The maintenance and up keeping of the entire resort in general.
The hotel could us a lot more maintenance in general. The staff was very nice, I did not see one employee without a smile on their face. The beach could be more cleaner with all the seaweed, etc. laying around. The buffet was delicious, but the restaurants that required reservations were not. Beware of the milk and water their too as most people are not custom to it and could end up being sick. They give as much bottled water as you want to drink or to brush your teeth. The beer is bottled which is rarely seen in all inclusive hotels(a good thing!). The entertainment at this hotel was amazing and funny. I would recommend this hotel overall.

Pros: The A/C in the room.
Cons: Everything needs to be improved.
Location: The location is horrible the "hotels beach" is not private, it's too crowded. And nothing to do here besides it's pool.
NO free safe in the room, no Iron in the rooms, fridge never worked, the transportation took forever to arrive to the rooms and when it did they are always full so we had to walk to out room literally half a mile in cobblestone which hurt walking. the front desk is too slow they have only 1 or 2 people attending to you and some with an attitude. One night it rained and our room ceiling was all dripping. Their beach area is dirty unlike other hotels and too crowded and nothing but vendors bugging you to buy their merchandise and 95% of them are a scam. Oh and the food is ok I guess.

Not at all what we expected

When we booked our stay at the IFA for our family vacation we thought we would be in paradise. When we arrived to the IFA the resort was nice on the outside but when we were given our room it was a dump. It looked like a runned down hostel. The room was completely dark and dirty. The paint on the walls were peeling, there wasn't enough lighting, our toilet was not flushing. It looked nothing like the pictures shown on Expedia. When our group complained about the room, we were told we could upgrade our rooms for $8 a night per person. Then the management stated to us that we were trying to get something for free, which was not the case at all. The rooms they were giving us were not "standard" rooms they were complete garbage and not what we paid for. The food was hit or miss. The restaurants where a reservation was required were awful. We went to the "Italian" restaurant and I ordered something similar to a chicken parmesan. It was chicken tenders and french fries. The buffet sometimes had good food. I found myself having soup almost every night and then stopping by the pizza bar afterwards. The drinks had little to no alcohol and were full of sugar. The main pool was disgustingly dirty. The staff, some were extremely nice and attentive while others were socializing with their coworkers. The beach was nice although there was a lot of seaweed in the water and along the shoreline. Overall we made the best of our trip but I would definitely not come back.

Do not book just because the pictures look nice. The outside gardens, are beautiful. The pool is old and not well maintained. The food is terrible, don't bother making reservations, stay with the buffet is much better.Not what i expected. The rooms are horrible and the beach is full of sea weeds and very noisy.

Not coming back. First time we take friends to the dominican republic and it was a disappointment.

Pros: enjoyed the facilities , beach location , the nightly shows , food and the service . In general was a great choice for the price paid .
Cons: the hotel rooms need an update and beds need new mattresses . new workout equipment
Location: location was safe , maybe a 25mins taxi ride to the Punta Cana Intl Airport . beautiful beach within a few mins walk .
the IFA Villas Bavaro Resort and Spa was an excellent choice for the price . Clean and safe facilities with nice beach within few mins walk , service was excellent , food and local beverages good, the nightly shows very Las Vegas style and very entertaining . the gym and spa well equipped , water sports included also . In general my first time experience in Punta Cana was a positive one and we are already planning to go back soon and may stay at the IFA VILLAS BAVARO RESRT & SPA again (:

Pros: Pools are great, specially the one by Cafe Dominicano.
Cons: The condition of the rooms, the staff service, air conditioning in most places.
Location: Go to excursions if you can afford them and stand the heat.
The hotel facilities are good for the price. The hotel's low and affordable price bring lots of low rude people. The hotel staff is also a little rude and unhelpful. My camera was stolen from my room and hotel staff, guess service, could not find it. There is not air conditioning in the restaurants. There is not hair conditioning, or toothpaste in the bathrooms. All inclusive is not totally true. International wines, beers and liquors are not included. High quality food like lobster is not included. It cost about $30 USD for a lobster meal and $50 USD for 50 minutes massage. Any excursion would go from $85 to $200. You will find air conditioning only in your room, if it is working properly. Bottom line is that if you can afford a better quality hotel, then book another hotel in order to avoid disappointment.

Like every resort it had its cons and pros. (I stayed for 5days mid June) Food: it was nearly impossible to make reservations at any of the different restaurants that they offer at the resort. We tried calling but they never answered so when we tried going to the lobby to make the reservations it was always already booked (I went around 8:30am). So for the five days we had to eat at the buffet. It was okay. Not the best and having to eat there for 5 days 3 times a day got really boring. Wifi: has a charge per device and it's pretty slow. Room comfort: I missed my bed at home during the trip! It was very rough! Other than the bed I believe the room was good. Entertainment: the resort is very big with lots of activities through out the day that are included. They also offer lots of extra off and onsite activities! I absolutely recomend parasailing! The view is breathtaking! The night life is great! Every night they have great shows that are sure to make you laugh! They also have a disco on site open late every night! Service: there were a little of everything! Polite, rude, creeps, funny, etc Overall: I recommend this resort for both those looking to have a fun time (because of there night life and music bar in the pool) and for those just looking to relax (resort has a separate quite calm pool and great spa)

We researched other resorts but when we saw this resort, the pictures were way better than our actual experience staying at this resort. -The older rooms are damp, dirty and smell like cigarettes. Bed sheets nasty! My girlfriend was willing to head back home the first night we arrived until they relocated us in the "newer" rooms -Resort/hotel check in check out or anything else is handled by one person creating a very long line. - Internet is purchased, expensive and not that strong. - Room service is just changing towels and fixing the bed. No changing soap or cleaning room. - Don't buy inclusive to include food because the three restaurants and the general buffet are not good at all. Birds where flying over the buffet area and picking up food where people actually are picking food from. - Buy your own beach towels rather than use their over used towels. - General swimming pool is overcrowded and the "adult" pool had plastic cuts floating and around the pool. I wonder if they ever clean the pools. - Had issues with AC in the begining. Overall, I would pay extra and to somewhere else clean, efficient and at least has better resources
