Never again

I know I got this room for a lower rate but never expected to get the room next to the maintenance room. Awoken by banging in the maintenance room, room needs to be renovated. Stayed before and loved it but now I will never go back. There were clearly other rooms available but I was put in the last room and honestly did not feel safe. I didn’t realize they put Expedia guest in the worst rooms

Nice and quiet

If you like fancy, keep looking, otherwise it's all you need for a good night's sleep. It has security gates. The rooms are older but very clean, and the bed was firm but comfortable. It's a great deal for the price.

There were bugs in our room

Pros: The price for the room
Cons: No bugs in the room
Location: It was a good location for us.
The first room we got had bugs.The second room we were moved to had a heater that was not working. I was very disappointed.

I am sorry to hear our full service continental breakfast didn't meet your needs but the Inn at Rio Rancho is conveniently located to numerous restaurants in walking distance, including Wecks.

Not how it looks like in pictures

Poorly maintained, no iron, fridge or microwave in rooms. Old beat up furniture. Not clean. Breakfast was horrible! with some days old bread slices, with some single serve peanut butter and jam.

Vintage Hotel, but just not ready for guests.

Pros: Overall vintage feel
Cons: Breakfast was awful, stale bread etc. Large facility but poorly lit. Parking was practically in the dark.
The hotel and convention facility has obviously been there for some time and has a lot of potential. It is really not ready for tourists. I hope they refurbish this gem soon.

The Inn at Rio Rancho is an older hotel but well furnished. There were very few guests during our stay thus very quiet and we will certainly book again on our next visit to Rio Rancho.

Back in Time

Pros: The hotel staff was wonderful.
Cons: Update the entire property
Location: Nothing significant to report
Everything was old and outdated. I had a box TV; no flat screen TVs. It was like taking a trip back in time.

Filthy, run down - disgusting

Cons: Rent a bulldozer and demolish this place, That would be an improvement
Location: Not much to do around here without a long hike to get there.
Before we booked this hotel, we called to find out how close the shuttle pickup to the balloon fiesta was to the hotel. We were told that the shuttle area was just across the street from the hotel, so we booked a room for four days. When we checked in, we found out that the pickup area was actually 1 mile down the road from the hotel, not "right across the street". Not a good start to our stay. We asked where we could buy some snacks to take with us the next day and were told by the front desk that there was a Walmart market "right behind the hotel". It was right behind the hotel - and 1/2 mile walk further away. On the way to our room, we were met with broken concrete walkways, parts of the walls and ceilings literally falling off, and rusty, poorly repaired stairs (no elevators). The room itself was a horror on it's own. Filthy carpet, chipped paint in the dirty sink, trash under the bed, sticky floor in the bathroom and the door to the bathroom hit the toilet every time it was opened. Since it was late at night, we decided to stay and hope for the best. Sleeping was nearly impossible because of the noisy air conditioner. The next morning, we had had enough and cancelled the rest of our reservation and checked in to the Hilton Garden Inn nearby at a much higher rate (that we gladly paid just to get away from this hotel. If you value any semblance of cleanliness, avoid this place like the plague.
