Rockaway, a bit of a drive but well worth it.
I had never been to Rockaway before and was pleasantly surprised. The property is situated on a lake with the ocean across the street. The property is really unique and attractive. I kept thinking how awesome it would be in the summer, as kayaks are available for use on the lake. We never saw anyone the entire weekend, so we had the place to ourselves. The unit itself, it spacious enough for 6 and well equipped. The only thing that could have improved the stay would be the comfort of the living space. The chairs, and love seat are NOT comfortable and only accomodate 4 at the most. It is the only TV in the unit and the floor is not carpeted so laying down ( kids ) is not an option. Otherwise, given their reasonable rates, you can't go wrong here for a weekend away.

Fun trip, but not quite comfortable.
Pros: - Easy to catch newts or fish in the lake/creek immediately next to the unit. - Great location quick to activities. - Clean as we expect from a beach house. - The kitchen was a good size for a family. Cons: - The beds HURT. It was all we could do to make it through each night. If you love a firm bed, this place is for you. - The house sleeps 6 but the living room furniture seats 4, and not particularly well. We brought inflatable lounge things for the kids, but that was cool for about one day. This house just didn't seem to have anywhere you could be very comfortable for long. - The home is really strictly advertised as "Scent Free", which was a huge bonus for us, as we are allergic bubble people. I was expecting products without fragrance, but that is not the case. The laundry is Lavender with a bit of mildew mixed in (I imagine that is hard to avoid at the beach). Most of the products are natural, but it cannot claim to be fragrance or "scent free". - We bring our own kitchen things due to food allergies, which was good because the pans were in rough shape, with peeling coating. - The community is becoming beach-worn. The gazebo has gone back to nature. Don't plan to use it. We wouldn't personally return to this rental due to comfort. I rounded up to four stars, taking into account the price.

Idyllic setting, dog friendly, and everything we needed
Great setting on the lake. You are right off 101 so you have the traffic noise but it’s easy to ignore given the setting. It is a townhome and seemed close quarters at first but really was just fine. We had 4 teenage boys with us and just the right amount of room and enough towels, bedding and blankets and didn’t hear the neighbors. Boys were out on kayaks and canoe every day and would park them across the lake and hike up the mountain foothill. Ocean is very close walk. You do have to cross 101 but not a big deal. You are directly in front of Twin Rocks. Kitchen was well stocked - better than most rentals. Aside from tongs and mixing bowls we had everything we needed. Very nice touches for the pooch - a little dog bed, bowls, leash, bags. View is amazing. It’s a corner property so you get views on both sides and you’re right on the little plot of land with gazebo. It’d for whole property but it’s nice to have it right out the back door. Grill wasn’t available to use but when it is, that would be great. There’s also an outdoor fireplace but wasn’t sure if we could use it. Fireplace was just an electric but nice enough.

Perfect lakefront escape
Steps from the lake with all the accommodations you could want for a quick getaway or extended stay. Breathtaking views from nearly every window with lots of natural light. Meals were enjoyable as the kitchen had everything we needed to prepare meals if we chose. The plastic dinnerware and high chair definitely made traveling with children easier and the beds were very comfortable. It was a great stay all around and not lacking in anyways. Highly recommend this gem of a find and look forward to booking again.

Great small townhome with beautiful views of the lake and hillside. It is a short walk to the beach, just know that you have to cross the 101 to get to it.

Weekend away
The property was as pictured. The furnishings were a little dated, but comfortable. My husband used the boat that was provided to fish on the lake. Very quiet neighborhood and Rockaway beach was minutes away. Overall a great place to spend a weekend to fish and relax!

Loved the lake view and watching the wildlife! The condo was clean and had good space for my family. The middle electric window shade was not functioning, maintainance was quick to fix. The fireplace had heat, but no flame.

Great location
The place was exceptionally clean. It just smelled fresh when we came in. There were lots of all the supplies including towels, dishes, eating and cooking utensils. I could not find fry pans but there was a griddle. The only other thing we could have used another of is a cutting board. Two fixes: The water in the upstairs shower would go cold if other water was turned on in the house. The dining room chairs could use foot pads so they don’t scrape on the floor so loudly. The best part of our stay was the backyard. The lake had birds on it most of the day. We took the canoe out on the lake using the dock. The kids brought their fishing gear but didn’t catch any. Lots of nibbles though. It was simply beautiful and quiet. Beach access was very easy just across the highway. A very successful weekend.

I wish I could give 5 stars, but….
There was no shampoo and conditioner in the upstairs bathroom and it said it would be available so we didn’t pack any for kids. The fire alarm was set off after my daughter took a hot shower. Then at 4:30am the fire alarm started chirping saying “low battery”. It woke the whole family up. We found batteries in a flashlight in the kitchen that we were able to replace the old ones with. Then having a 10am checkout is really early and Paying an additional $40 fir two more hours wasn’t worth it. The property was beautiful that place was nice but the beds were small and felt like futon mattresses. Not very comfy.

Rockaway Beach
Unit 1 is a end unit and afforded us a lot of privacy. The kitchen is very well stocked with dishes, pots and pans, and linens. There were plenty of bath towels as well as beach towels. A walk to beautiful Rockaway Beach was less than 5 minutes. Hot water was plentiful and WIFI signal was strong. The only drawback for our party of 5 adults was the loft sleeping arrangements. Bunkbeds are definitely made for young children. Mattresses are very thin and have plastic covers. Had we known we would have brought an inflatable mattress because the loft area is a pleasant space with a great view of the pond.

Quiet property near the beach
Although the property is close to the main road, it was never a noise issue. Train in the morning heard loud and clear! Clean home, beds seem new and are firm. Plenty of linens, dishes, glassware and cutlery. Easy to walk across to the beach across main road. Appreciated the opportunity to use the washer and drier. Not many TV programs available. Two minor disappointments: no outdoor grill ( there is some sort of a common grill outside, but it is dilapidated and unusable), and a Kreurig coffee machine with only 2 pods. Most rentals have drip coffee makers so we brought our own coffee but we were unable to use. Quiet unit on the end that we would stay at again and again.
