Positives: Room was much bigger than expected. Bed was comfortable, places to hang out. Rollaway was there on-time and everyone was really nice. Two sinks were a positive. Very convenient to Stanford (ask about the Marguerite bus). Lots of cool places to hang out outside the room (plants are amazing). Negatives: Breakfast was overadvertised. It was pretty standard ``continental breakfast''. There was some oddness in the room. The shower was dark and the tub didn't drain well. Took a while to figure out the shower---they have a low-flow shower head on a high-flow fixture. So if you turn the water on all the way, it comes out the shower and also out of the tub faucet. No need for a desktop computer in a room in Palo Alto, and there was a huge tangle of wires.

Very "California"

Posted Feb 13, 2017
The rooms are very spacious. The Wifi is the fastest I've ever seen in a hotel. The non-stop plants and foliage are funky, but in a good way. There are some very good California Ave just a few blocks away. Stanford Ave provides a stress-free driving alternative to Page Mill Rd. The underground parking is easy to use. The breakfast was good quality. You won't get any "points" for staying here, but you will save money and be happy with the value.

Meh

Served its purpose as a place to stay nearby the University. Definitely in need of updating and deep cleaning.

Highly expensive for quality. Not great value. Needs a refresh.

Don't be fooled by the pretty photos

Pros: The breakfast was very good and the safe worked. The housekeepers did the best they could with the supplies they were given. Wireless service was good
Cons: The furniture looks like it was picked up from Craig's List Curb Alert.
Location: Starbucks next door (good because the in room coffee was awful), not too far of a walk to downtown.
First, don't bother asking the staff for anything. They will pretend to write it down and then promptly forget about it. My shower would not drain properly. I had to turn the water on and off between washing and rinsing to allow it to drain. Turned a 5 minute shower into 20. My door stuck both opening and closing. It literally looked as though it had been kicked in at one point. The place is so unclean the only word to describe it is grungy. I don't think the floors, walls or door of the elevator have ever been cleaned. There are crumbs in the ledge of the door. The bed linens felt greasy; the carpet - don't walk around barefoot. It feels like it might have been wet at one point and allowed to slowly dry out by itself. The "Honor Bar"! Are you kidding me? If you forgot toothpaste, they have it in your room for you...for 3 bucks. There's a price listed for everything, right down to the coffee pot and the wireless router in case you want to take that home! The few good things: The breakfast; the wireless speed and signal; the TV The weird: They added these funky, out of place fake fireplaces just hanging on the wall. Sleak, modern and ugly. Who thinks of these things. Should have saved the money and purchased new sheets and blankets. The really bad: The staff; the lack of cleanliness; the ancient furnishings and the price you pay is outrageous. There are equally bad motels down the street for 1/4 the price. I could go on, but why bother...stay away, stay far away.

The hotel has a great location, but is terribly outdated and kind of creepy.

The shower curtain was moldy, there were balls of hair on the floor of the room, and the room smelled like an old, moldy, musty, mildewy house. Not worth over $75.
