Pig sty

Posted May 1, 2016
Pros: Leaving a day early.
Cons: Clean it up. A fluff & tuck between guests is a myopic, parasitic business plan. A lap-worthy pool instead of 3 puddles would be nice
Location: Tybee Island is a lovely destination if you have clean lodging. Surf fishing in late April was poor.
Check-in is stated as 4 PM so I wouldn't have been disappointed at 2 PM is the staff told me the room wasn't ready. I was very disappointed to walk into the 3rd floor room & find it hadn't been touched by housekeeping since the last occupant left. Desk staff apologized, blaming it on last night's power outage/computer failure. After an hour's walk on the beach the room was "ready". We unpacked a bit & I began cooking a meal for my wife & myself. The sink island crowds the fridge in unit 126 so unpacking the cooler was awkward. My cooking time was divided by time spent adjusting a wobbly, knocking ceiling fan. My wife realized the stickiness of the floor wasn't just humidity but filth which had turned our feet black in the short time we'd been there. My wife wanted to complain to the manager but was told no manager was available until morning. Ditto for housekeeping. James chimed in, identifying himself as maintenance staff & asked how he could help. After seeing my wife's blackened sole & a hand towel she blackened with a short swipe across the floor he said "We've got to get you into another room." He helped us relocate to a larger room, apologizing repeatedly. Cleanliness of unit 226 was better but not by much. I mopped it the next morning. When I say the rugs were sparkling I'm not being sarcastic about filth as mush as pointing out how they glittered with broken glass. Crumbs on floors/dirty tabletops/burned out bulbs/filmy glassware/"bearded" fridge grill/Verizon dead z

Reserved through Expedia

Posted Mar 24, 2016
Pros: Access to the beach!
Cons: Better reservation software!
Location: If you decide to take your car off the premises, you have 2 pay 2 park in the city, and it minimum of 2 hrs@$2 an hr. It's a distance to all the shops
If you reserved through Expedia, better bring all the documentation that you have a reservation. I feel I was being scammed that they had no reservation, but yet I had a reservation number and when I went to pull up my credit card statement to prove that I had prepaid, then magically they found our reservation.

Great, affordable place on the beach

Posted Nov 14, 2015
Stayed here for a long weekend in November. We had a great view of the ocean and enjoyed our time on Tybee. There's a heated outdoor pool, which was nice during our November visit. It is on the north side of the island and "downtown" Tybee in a few miles away. A cheap cab ride down though.

Nice condo with a full kitchen, granite and all. Walking distance to several good restaurants: Sundae's Cafe was a treat for dinner. Wide sandy beach to walk. Some live music at Marlin Monroe's was a good touch!

We were pleasantly surprised when we arrived in our room. Very large, clean and nicely decorated. We enjoyed our time there. The kitchen was under stocked as far as cooking utensils, towels, etc.

Location was good being right on the beach about a 25 minute walk from the pier. Marlin monroes was a pretty good restaurant good atmosphere and good music. Pools were nice. Staff was friendly. Room was pretty clean not bad.. The room didn't have much insulation so was pretty loud from the partying outside.. Overall the stay was pretty nice and comfortable.

We stayed at a one bedroom condo right on the beach and three pools -- which our kids loved. The facility was nice, clean, and roomy. The staff was very helpful.

Tybee Island Beach Resort

Posted Jun 3, 2015
We absolutely loved our room. It was clean and extremely spacious. We had a wonderful view of the water. The only complaint we had about the room was that our children did not have a cable connection in their room so they had no way of watching TV before bedtime unless they watched in the den area. (Limited adult time for us) The pools were relatively small but not crowed. The staff was always pleasant and very helpful. I would definitely stay at this resort again.
