We loved everything about this property! The check in was simple and the owners were so friendly. The location was perfect to go on a glacier hike or ice cave tour. The room was so cute and comfortable and had everything we needed and more! Cannot recommend this place enough.

The Potato Storage was a really lovely place to stay. Clean, modern cosy and everything you could wish to use in the little kitchen. We also saw the Northern Lights. A little Gem.

The Potato Storage is a wonderful place to stay when visiting Skaftafell National Park. The apartments are modern, spacious and closely located to many attractions. The owners have creatively transformed a potato storage facility into a lovely accommodation. Strongly recommended for anyone traveling in this part of Iceland!

Location was remote, but near the glacier and in a beautiful spot at the base of a mountain. Great place to stop on the south coast.

Great location for seeing several nearby attractions. The unit was small but workable. The owners were very responsive. A shelf or table in the bathroom would have been helpful, but otherwise we feel the studio apartment was very nice for the size.

Arrived during the middle of what could only have been described as a blizzard. Klaus rang us before we arrived to inform us of the road conditions and make sure we were ok. Room itself was very well appointed with fully stocked kitchenette. Clean, tidy, and the double glazed windows and doors all but silenced the howling winds outside.

Home away from home in Skaftafell
The Potato Storage is the perfect launchpad if you are intending to do the Skaftafell Glacier Hike, being only a 10-minute drive from most tours' meeting point at Skaftafell Terminal. Regina welcomed us upon arrival into our clean and comfortable studio, which had literally everything one could ask for in terms of warm showers and a fully-fitted kitchenette to prepare meals. Do note that there are no nearby supermarkets - but even if you were not aware, Regina would have given you a heads-up well in advance. We were extremely grateful for the warm hospitality at The Potato Storage and will strongly recommend it to any travelers along the South Coast.

Potato storage. -Studio apartment layout. 😐 -No washing machine😐 -Early email with directions and very helpful notes about lack of local stores and petrol station 😀 -Greeted on arrival and shown apartment. 😀 -would definitely stay again. 🙂 The accommodation has a lovely rustic feel to it. It is small but functional with a kitchette and extractor fan for when you cook. There are sufficient utensils to cook basic meals with a lovely selection of tea and coffee. The bathroom is very nice as is the decor of the whole apartment. This is definitely a place for couples or a single traveller. Generally this is a very lovely place to stay which has the necessary comforts done to a very high level of quality. I highly recommend this place.

This was a very unique place to stay (in a former potato storage facility) we were pleasantly surprised at how well appointed the kitchen was and allowed us to cook dinner on our two nights there. This was very close to Vatnajokull National Park where we went on a glacier hike and ice cave trip. Definitely plan on bringing food and snacks, this location is not close to many places for food. Great hiking at the national park and close to Diamond beach!

호스트의 스타일이 고스란히 담긴 숙소였다. 숙소에 있던 호스트의 사진작품 책도, 안내 책자도 너무 귀엽고, 감자 창고로 사용 되다가 리모델링 된 방의 소소한 이야기도, 아침에 볼 수 있는 뒷산의 운치도 모두 기억에 남는다. 다음에 올때는 여기서 더 길게 머물러야 할 것 같다.
