Stella Views has Stunning 360 Degree Views of Long Island, Atlantic & Caribbean

Family-friendly villa with outdoor pool and fitness center
Welcome to Stella Views, the name of the villa simply best represents the true visual outlook. The property is very close to Stella Maris Resort and Stella Maris airport. The property has recently been built to very modern and high standards. The expansive ground floor has two ensuite bedrooms, one outdoor shower with Atlantic view. A small bedroom and washroom.
The spiral staircase leads to the first floor and a very large lounge, dining and kitchen area, and utility room. There are two further bedroom with shared bathroom. The lounge opens out to a wonderful terrace area, private pool, gym and separate toilet and changing room.
The spiral staircase continues to a small office and large roof terrace and the wonderful lookout turret where the "whow" word has been mentioned so many times. A great place to watch the sunrise or sunset with cocktails in hand.
The house is protected by hurricane rated shutters.
One can explore Long Island which is probably the most beautiful island in the Bahamas. Simple stay in the tranquility of the villa or explore the wonderful island and all it has to offer. The nearest beach is a few minutes drive at Stella Maris Resort but the island has so many beautiful beaches to offer especially Cape Santa Maria which has been noted as one of the top 10 best Beaches in the world.
MORE ABOUT LONG ISLAND:
Situated in the southern Bahamas, Long Island is one of many islands and cays that make up the spectacular Bahamas Out Islands. Many places claim to be paradise, but that really depends on your definition. We define paradise as mile upon mile of silky-fine sandy beach all to yourself, brilliant turquoise water, gently swaying palms and the finest weather in the Caribbean.
Long Island was among the first land discovered by Columbus in 1492, and in his ship’s log, he described it as “the most delightful island in the world.” The east coast features 150 ft cliffs with crashing surf, while Cape Santa Maria on the west boasts mile upon mile of calm blue water and white sandy beach. As its name suggests, Long Island is over 70 miles long and just five miles wide. Lush green foliage covers the island, and fills the air with the intoxicating fragrances of the Caribbean.
A central road runs from north to south along Long Island, lined with the small villages and beautiful colonial churches that give the Bahamas its untouched feeling. With names like Burnt Ground, Deadman’s Cay, Bunchs, Doctor’s Creek, and Mangrove Bush, these villages offer a glimpse into the relaxed Bahamas lifestyle.
Originally named “Yuma” by Arawak Indians, the island was renamed “Fernandina” by Christopher Columbus in 1492. However, Long Island earned its current name because a seafarer felt it took too long to sail past the island. After all, it is 80 miles long, but no more than four miles wide at its broadest point. The Tropic of Cancer runs directly through the island, giving it two very different coastlines—the dramatic cliffs and caves of the east coast that front the crashing Atlantic waves, and the sandy edged lee side which slopes calmly into the Bahamas Bank. Here you’ll find Dean’s Blue Hole, historic twin churches built in the 1800s and one of the largest caves in The Bahamas.

Getting there;
FLYING TO STELLA MARIS VIA NASSAU (NAS):
This is the most common route taken to Long Island. Nassau International Airport is the major air hub for the Bahamas with many direct flights from the USA, Cana Blue, American Airlines, Delta, United, Air Canada, British Airways, West Jet and Bahamasair. Upon arrival in Nassau, you will need to clear customs/immigration and then take a short flight to Long Island using SoutherenAir (cost is about $130) or Stella Maris Resort Air Service can also pick you up in Nassau and fly you directly to Stella Maris in one of their resort aircraft. This flight is extraordinarily beautiful and lasts about 45 minutes. The cost per person is about $175 each way. (Rate subject to change in accordance with fuel prices) Stella Views is less than a mile from the runway. My property manager will greet you at the airport and drive you directly to the villa. More information about Stella Maris Resort Air Service can be found at http://www.stellamarisresort.com/air-service/ Email reservations@stellamarisresort.com to book your flights! Stella Maris Resort Air Service is the preferred way to reach Stella Maris. However, Southern Air also offers daily flights to Stella Maris. More information can be found at www.southernaircharter.com Bahamasair offers flights between Nassau and Deadman's Cay on Long Island. Please note that this airport is about 35 minutes south of Stella Maris. More info at www.bahamasair.com

Stellar views at Stella Views!
Stunning house with breathtaking views! We traveled with extended family and there was ample space for us to spread out. Multiple seating areas both inside and out. Dinning table easily seated eight. Kitchen was well equipped for meal preparation. Balconies and views on all levels. The turret is easily the highest point on this part of the island and offers 360 views of Long Island. Close to both Stela Maris and Cape Santa Maria resorts. Both are very friendly and open to non-resort guests to make use of their restaurants and activities. Nearby Cape Santa Maria beach is hands down the most stunning and best swimming beach in the Bahamas/Caribbean! We’ve been spending holidays on various islands each year for almost the last 10 years (St. Barths, St. Martin, St. Croix, St. Kits, St. Thomas, Nassau, Harbor Island...) and this was one of our favorite places to stay so far. If you’re looking to get away from the crowds without roughing it, this is your place. Great for larger groups and kids.

Gorgeous home with spectacular views
This house was absolutely beautiful with amazing views! Very spacious lay out and very well stocked. There are multiple outdoor spaces from which to take in the stunning ocean views. We kept forgetting about the two roof decks in addition to the great seating area/balcony right off the living room. The living room has two large seating areas. I would absolutely stay here again. The owner always replied quickly And was easy to work with. It was a great vacation!!

Great Vacation!
Stella Views is a beautiful home that is very new and clean. The home was accurately represented on the VRBO website, specifically: spacious rooms, open layout, large outdoor balconies, plenty of seating areas and stunning views of the Atlantic ocean. We enjoyed the morning and evening breezes coming off the Atlantic which made the balconies very comfortable. We drove the entire island and spent time on all of the major beaches, and couldn't believe how empty they were (often we were the only ones on the beach!). We'd highly recommend spending time at the Cape Santa Maria beach (about 15 minutes from Stella Views) which has a resort but the beach is open to the public, and the resort has a nice bar and restaurant. We charted a boat for a 1/2 day of reef fishing, and that was lots of fun. We also enjoyed the Columbus Monument as the views from the top of the bluff were amazing, and there is a small private beach near the parking area that has some great snorkeling. Long Island is pretty rural and as such lacks road infrastructure (side roads are in poor shape). It took a couple days to get used to this - but once we got our bearings we learned to appreciate the lifestyle on the island. Karin was a great help in picking us up from the airport, purchasing groceries in advance, and making recommendations (and reservations) for restaurants that we really enjoyed. Lastly, there is a great snorkeling spot (Coral Gardens) just 50 yards from Stella Views driveway. If you want to vacation in a large beautiful new home on a sparsely populated Bahamian island with empty beaches, then Stella Views is the place for you!
