Gorgeous Georgian Crescent

Posted Sep 22, 2017
Pros: Friendly but unobtrusive greeting from helpful lady on reception. Location.
Cons: Curtains urgently need sorting so guests can easily open and close them. Mattress was way too hard for me.
Location: Quiet and beautiful location close to Water of Leith, in trendy Stockbridge. Easy walk through architecturally awesome New Town to City Centre.
Furnishings are tired, and room was small, but if you want to stay in a cheap room in a lovely location in Edinburgh's Georgian New Town you could do a lot worse than this hotel. Fresh white towels and sheets. Ensuite had been thoroughly cleaned. Squeezy soap and shower gel provided.

A budget b&b

Posted Sep 9, 2017
Pros: Budget accommodation.
Cons: Tlc
Location: Close to the Botanical Gardens.
St Bernard's House is a budget accommodation situated approximately 20 minutes walk from downtown Princes Street. The room are not overly spacious but the beds are clean and comfortable enough. A little tlc would help lift the overall rating but on the whole this b&b is more than acceptable for a short stay. Be prepared to climb stairs and on higher levels wifi is too weak to connect to.

30 minutes walk from the centre of Edinburgh

Rather down at heal guest house. I stayed in the room with a private bathroom which is hotel speak for down the corridor. Overall a place that has seen better days, but for the price quite good value.

Mediocre, but convenient.

Posted Aug 11, 2017
Location: In a residential area. Nothing of interest nearby.
The location was convenient. The so-called breakfast was laughable. It cost 5 pounds, had no hot food. The dust was a half inch thick in some areas, e.g. on top of the cupboard.

Fantastic Neighborhood

There were problems with the central heat. It was warmer than usual and somehow the heat would get turned on during the day and we would have to get help to turn it off. It would take time for the room to cool down.

Edin hotel

Blood on sheets. Window wouldn't close, had to get help shutting it. Private bathroom - the lock was broken so couldn't lock it, shower hadn't been cleaned for a long time and the foot towel was already wet, dirty and also had blood on it. Never one to complain about hotels but was not expecting blood on things and expected things to have been cleaned.

Simple guest house in local residential area.

There's no lift and the wifi was barely strong enough...otherwise it's a simple budget guest house in a non tourist area..we loved the local vibe!
