Tar Pits Park Tours

The staff was friendly and helpful, the location was terrific, just a few minutes walk from the beach, and the rooms were large (at least ours was). But there are issues that would keep me from booking again in the future: the design is a true motel, where people are walking past your room and can easily see in unless you have the shutters closed, leaving the room very dark; the pool is very small, so when two families were poolside it was both loud and more crowded than I would like for a relaxing visit to the pool; finally, the furniture and decor in the room were tired and not as nice as I would expect for a room at this price point.

Wonderful gem a few blocks down from the beach near Pershing Park. About a 1.5 mile round trip walk from the hotel to the pier/Jeannie's at the Shore, to give a perspective regarding distance. Amenities including free parking, all day coffee/tea, breakfast and afternoon wine were such a joy to have each day during our stay. Super friendly staff and front desk. Had a great visit.
