The person at the desk for third shift was less than friendly. The room was filthy, the mold in the shower was plentyful and it was nasty.........

Not 4 star but okay

We prefer more up to date hotels but this is a small town in the middle of no where really. The whole town is run down so it was pretty good considering. The floor in the bathroom wasn't clean around the edges or by the toilet but it wasn't too gross to handle. The room was clean and the beds were comfortable. Didn't enjoy the entrance since you had to walk right by the smoke filled casino but that's par for a casino. It was okay enough that we would stay there again. The historical artifacts displayed were very interesting!

not impressed

Posted Aug 25, 2010
The main problem with the hotel was the smoking area was located near several rooms including ours, although our room was clearly marked "no smoking." We had to pass through the very smokey area to go in and out of our room as both the stairs and the elevator were located on the other side of the smoking area.

Good Spot

A lot of cool old stuff in this hotel. It's not every day you get to There are antiques, restaurant, and a casino. Room was clean, staff was helpful, knowledgeable, and courteous. This was a pretty good place to stay.

Staff nice but very slow with check-in process. Lots of nice antiques in the lobby. The room was dirty. I would not recommend, but there's not much to choose from if you need a hotel room in this town.

Not impressed - too many stairs to climb after using elevator!

Posted Jul 30, 2010
We expected the Ramada Tonopah to be like other Ramada's that we've stayed at. This one has two very long "wings". After you take the elevator to the second floor, if you're at the end of a wing, it's a long walk with 6-8 stairs to climb every three rooms. There is no elevator or exit at the end of the wing we were in. We also expected a refrigerator to be in the room - but there wasn't. Upon requesting one we were told we had to request one prior to arrival and then that there was no one to take care of it the first day. The second day we were told there were none available. Also, in the casino, there are no payouts from the machines. You have to call and wait for the one (1) "runner" to get your money out of the machines. Our stay wasn't terrible but it sure wasn't what we expected for a Ramada Inn.

Nice place to stay

Posted Jul 29, 2010
The Ramada was very clean, and the people working there were very friendly and helpful. We liked the fact that hotel, casino, and dining were all available within the building and we didn't have to go outside or drive around to look for a place to eat. There is also a large laundry on the first floor, so if you are on a long road trip this is a great place to do multiple loads at once - they even provide a folding table. The only problem we experienced was the four of five steps between each level of rooms. The elevator only goes to the landing, and there may be a few rooms available at that level. But, if you are wheelchair dependent or have difficulty going stairs, make sure to let the hotel know when you make reservations, they will do their best to take care of any special needs. The lobby and entry area are worth a visit even if you're just passing through the area. There is a "mini" museum with a number of interesting items and information about the history of the local mining industry.
