Traditional inn in the countryside.Posted Nov 1, 2015
Pros: Everything. Room, bar, food, service. All excellent.
Location: Visited Berdgebury pinetum 10 mins drive away. Perfect for walking, cycling etc.
Charming little inn. Recently refurbished to a high standard with attention to detail. Immaculately clean and well run by friendly and warm staff. Room extremely comfortable. Restaurant served good quality food reasonably priced. Will definitely return to this idyllic hidden gem.

Hummm.. Not impressed, I'm afraid!!Posted Jul 8, 2015 on Hotels
It was a bit disappointing actually. We were not told breakfast had been cancelled yet it was specified in the rate. We had very early start and we couldn't find any place that was offering hot breakfast around. Needless to say that kids were grumpy and hungry, so not pleasant. The room itself was on the small size for a family of four but as there wasn't anything else available at last minute, it served its purpose. I was told they are changing owners so one can understand that standards might drop in between but it didn't live up to expectations. My family couldn't believe it's been rated 4* when I said it. One good point was the lady that welcomed us and was very helpful in trying to find us a place to it but the village didn't have much going on quite as early as we needed. Not sure we'd like to come back there

Not good on housekeepingPosted Jun 5, 2015 on Hotels
Room looked very clean and tidy on arrival, next evening on our arrival back imagine our surprise to find that the room had not been touched not even the cups washed. Told it was staff shortage! Not good enough. Very noisy when other guests used their bathrooms as the fans came on when the light was switched on.

Excellent base for a mid-week getaway breakPosted May 2, 2015 on Hotels
A very pleasant stay where Zoltan (the manager) could not do enough for us. The room was adequate and very clean and the food was of very high quality. Ruth, the head waitress, was superbly friendly and very efficient. Overall a very pleasant stay.

No food served on a Monday nightPosted Mar 26, 2015 on Hotels
The inn is closed until 6pm which it does say in booking conditions but this is rigidly adhered to. I was not made welcome and was told nothing about the inn and what it provided except that it did not offer food on a Monday. The recommendation was good but involved a ten min drive which after 350 miles in the car that day was unwanted . The room was cold when I got there but had warmed up when I got back . Wifi worked intermittently and there was no armchair in the room. The hotel supplied soap nothing more. Breakfast was served from 8am which was ok got me that day as I had a late start but usually would be too late. Breakfast was freshly cooked and reasonable. Staff at breakfast were friendly.

So British!Posted Mar 17, 2015 on Hotels
