Hear and see the ocean in this beautiful, remodeled 670 Sq. Ft, one bedroom ocean view cottage features an open floor plan enabling you to interact with others easily. the Cottage is sharing the property with another 2 bedroom Main house "Escape from Reality". It has central air, living room areas, all new kitchen with gorgeous vanilla cabinetry and quartz countertop, new appliances, bottled water quality water through an iSpring 5 Stage water purifier, new furniture, new premium pillow top mattress and updated bathroom. The living room has a 42" flat screen "smart" HDTV. WiFi, Roku, Netflix and IHeart Radio access included. The house sleeps up to 4 when using the queen size hide-a-bed located in the living room. Included in each house are free WiFi, Netflix, several games, paperbacks, stateside phone for free calls, and a local cell phone. The house is not suitable for small children due to the decorative items. You can also experience a local game using the local soldier crabs or "hermit crabs" in a circle and seeing whose wins the race to the food in the center. Whenever we are there my daughter takes a little leftover food out each evening and they have come to expect it and show up for "dinner". They range in size from baseball size hermits to tip of your pinky sized ones.

There is a shared full sized laundry on the property.

The house is located just 90 feet from the ocean with 85' of shoreline. The beach is rocky, so water shoes are a must! There are several good snorkeling areas just off the shoreline boasting an abundance of vegetation, reefs and marine life.

A short five minute drive to the dive shops and shopping. Initial food supplies can be purchased and placed in house for your convenience if you desire. Just submit a list and reimbursement can be made when you arrive.
*Early check-in or late check-out will be a $25 fee as it creates difficulties for housekeeping and next guests.

A charming romantic cozy cottage with pride!

Everything was neat and clean!!! My heritage is from Cayman Brac, and to see the renovation does my heart good. Shawn handled all my needs for direct communication, and her hands on rental management took care of the rest for her. I could not find anything more delightful and cozy! Wonderful location, privacy, and accommodations. I will highly recommend and cannot wait to return again!!!

Delightful!

We completely enjoyed our visit to Cayman Brac, and Ocean Retreat is everything that's advertised - except better. It's hard to describe the views, which were lovely. We found the cottage perfect for us in every way and the owners were wonderful hosts, promptly answering every little question prior to our visit and checking in with us after we arrived. The house was clean and had everything we might need - even beach chairs and a cooler. I'm pretty picky when it comes to bedding and linens, but the bed was very comfy and there were plenty of nice towels. The washer and dryer was convenient too. Everything was great - simply the best! We loved it there and hope to return soon.

Lovely stay in Cayman Brac

Very much enjoyed our three nights on Cayman Brac. Lovely, well-appointed 1 BR cottage with a view of the ocean. We had hoped to snorkel during our stay, but the water was unfortunately too rough. Instead, we explored the island, with great views and interesting caves. Definitely recommend a car to see the island, and would book ahead if we come back. We lucked out when Vanessa, a local taxi driver was able to arrange a private rental for us - all of the agencies were out of cars due to a funeral. We had tried reaching out to the property manager, Liesel by phone before arriving with questions, but did not receive a response to our voicemail and inquiries.

Home away from home

It was our home away from home for 10 days. It has everything we needed, beach towels, chairs and a cooler. It was too windy to snorkel in front of the house so we spent a majority or our time swimming and snorkeling at Scott’s dock. That’s where the best fish are. Don’t forget to feed the crabs. We set out a saucer with water and a separate plate with peanut butter and or small pieces of apple. They ad a crab party every night. It’s fun to watch them. Enjoy! We will be back. We love this quiet peaceful safe island. The house is very comfortable.

Cute cottage perfect for two.

We had a great stay Liesel met us at the airport and helped us get our luggage into the rental car then brought us to the property and explained everything. We enjoyed the location and the home. We were however surprised that there was no shampoo, conditioner or body soap provided.

Great Adventure

Amazing and peaceful sanctuary

I had an amazing time at Shawn and Jeff's peaceful house. The view to the ocean is a huge bonus and makes for a very tranquil location. Shawn is extremely diligent at responding and helping out with car rentals, answering questions and helping in any way possible to make for a better vacation. Relaxing Getaway for Two

Our recent stay at the cottage was such a great experience and the cottage offered everything we needed for our visit from a fully stocked kitchen to beautiful landscaping and peaceful nights under thousands of stars. We thoroughly enjoyed exploring the island (we live in Grand Cayman but Cayman Brac is such a nice contrast to the hustle and bustle of “city life”). Shawn was even kind enough to help arrange our rental car and beach side massages for the two of us for a perfect Valentine’s getaway. We can’t wait to come back!

Great place to experience the Brac

This was a snorkeling trip. “Escape” was a great base of operations. Clean, comfortable, and QUIET!!! For the most part, the only noise we heard was the surf. What could be better?

A wonderful cottage, wish we could stay longer!

This was an amazing place to stay. So beautiful, and convenient to everything on the island, and right on the water, so the surf was always lovely to see and hear. Our hosts laid in every essential for our stay, from extra towels for the beach and around the house, to a few baggies and Tupperware for our extra foodstuffs. They had everything we needed for cooking. The bed was very comfortable and shower was big and fabulous. There was an outside sink to rinse wet suits, etc. And even a nice spot to hang them to dry! Also, there was an outside shower to rinse off the saltwater. The place was immaculate, bright, and wonderful. This was the best vacation home I've ever stayed at. We did have a few minor miscommunications before we arrived. But the owner was always available and answered questions right away, so that was no problem. I can't recommend this place highly enough.

A Quiet, Well-Maintained Refuge

I went to the Brac not for recreation, but to assist with a family member's care and home repairs, so being able to return to this calm, clean environment was very important. I used one of the available bikes as my main transportation, and I could get to restaurants, liquor stores(!), and a food market without too much effort. Be aware that the cell phone provided may need to have more money added, and that the Netflix availability was problematic. The laundry room was very handy, and all mechanical systems worked well. Excellent value, great location, great condition.

a delightful and well situated and furnished cottage

the cottage sits behind a larger house, the patio outside of kitchen has a lovely double chase facing the ocean! there is a hammock within yards of the ocean. there is a hanging cushioned double swing on the deeply covered front porch. several resting and sit-spots make this cottage a special deal. thank you for your hospitality and the help you extended us!
