Convenient, but can probably find better.

Posted Nov 6, 2017
Pros: The view and location.
Cons: Do some renovation and come up with a parking plan. It's going to be several years before a new deck is in place.
Location: Downtown Wilmington is a great place to eat, drink and cruise on the river, shop and enjoy the historic homes and buildings in the area.
Two issues here: the condition of the room and the location. First the room. This room is very basic and needs some attention. This is a situation where owners are renting out their property so there maybe more than one room involved but the one I was in wasn't up to standards as far as condition of the room. Dirt along corners of baseboards, bare basics as far as furniture. The view and location are great but renovate! Now the location. Wilmington is what it is and mostly great but there is a parking issue now. This property sits next to what used to be a large parking deck but it is currently being demolished. Be aware there is no longer any free parking for this room. The lot beside the building charges $1 an hour and is small. Street parking is metered during the day. And the Hilton will let you park in their lot for $11 a day. That said, lots of people opt for the Hilton parking so the lot closest to this room was full. So it could be a three block walk to the car, in the other lot, which looked like it could potentially fill up too. Love the view but should have just chosen the Hilton and gotten the points.

Elizabeth, thank you for your review. We are pleased you overall had a comfortable stay, but your comments indicate we have room for improvement. We have taken a note of your concerns as we plan any future upgrades. Also, I apologize for the inconvenience of parking across the street in our sister hotel's lot, but parking in a downtown area such as this is very limited. We hope to have another chance so we can make your next trip exceptional in every respect. Daniel Perkins, Assistant General Manager

Great Riverview Hotel with a Homey Feel

Posted Nov 5, 2017
The only downside I have about this hotel is the lobby is across the street about a blocks walk away at the Hilton and they share parking. The room was great, we felt at home with a beachy vibe. The river view is great too, and front row to the USCG cutter and USN battleship. I would give it 5 stars other than the inconvienice of the lobby and parking.

Pros: Full kitchen! Lovely balcony overlooking the river!
Cons: Room is a little scruffy. Outlets are not located near the bed. Some lights have funky switches.
Location: Fantastic location!
Riverview Suites is an extension of the nearby Hilton. It is residential with some rooms available for hotel visitors. Unfortunately, this is not made clear on the confirmation, so it takes awhile to figure out how to get into this place or where to check in. I had to ask a random person in the parking lot.

AVOID this Condo!!!

Posted Oct 31, 2017
Pros: There was nothing to like about this condo. I felt so bad taking my wife and son here without reading the Expedia reviews.
Cons: I guess Hilton or the individual owners can update and improve the furnishings of the units. But you cannot abate the bad air quality and the noise.
Location: There are plenty of things to do nearby
We stayed two nights from Oct 20-22 with late arrival. Here were the problems: 1. The condo is not called "Riverview", We drove around a couple times before calling the condo, only to find out check in is at Hilton down the street. Parking is also to be at Hilton self parking area, there is a short walk to the condo and the entrance is at the back. Don't feel safe walking at night. Hilton does not provide shuttle. 2. The air at the rear entrance smelled like the laundry dryer exhaust. There was a loud turbine noise in close proximity 24-7. I don't know where it came from. You want to hold your breath and hurray to your room and shut the door so you can relax. but can you??? 3. Our first room was at #310. That place was filthy, lights were dimly lit, "full kitchen" was just a joke, the sink (see picture) is as small as a bar sink, cabinets and drawers with just a few pots and pans and some utensils, no cutting board, the bath tub is missing a drain plug, the chair upholstery is filthy and cracked (see picture). We were given another room at about 1 AM in the morning. 4. So we moved into room #811. The kitchen was definitely much better, looks like it was remodeled with a full size sink, again no cutting board, amenities were sparse, with old and rusty pots and pans (see picture). These are just not the kitchens that you want to be cooking in. The WiFi did not work. 5. Bath towels bear the Hilton logo, but don't expect any Hilton quality here! Spend your money somewhere else.

no view riverview

Parking was non existent at location - it was available at the Hilton for $11.00 per day but then would have to walk with luggage. TV did not work in living room. 1 coffee cup. Old fixtures and furnishings and finger prints on light switches (an easy clean up job). Directions did not mention that the check-in is at Hilton it just gave address so GPS issues when arriving from out of town. Simple fix just put check-in at Hilton.

One night for job interview. Nice view. Quiet. Check in is actually at the Hilton across the street. Standard small things wrong with room: lights out here and there and only half of the remote worked. Good food within walking distance.

phenomenal view.

The river view was worth more than we paid. The room was clean and everything worked. We were cool, had sufficient amenities, access to pool, bar, and restaurant at the Marriott. We sat on the balcony and watched the boats and people on the river walk. We walked to nearby restaurants but the shuttle would have taken us. The decor was dated but if we wanted decor we would have stayed at the Marriott. We wanted the river view and we weren't disappointed!

Disappointed

Posted Aug 23, 2017 on Hotels
This is a true condo, in a great location and could be a gem--but sadly it is not. It is part of the Hilton the next block down (which is beautiful). The guy at the desk was rude and it seemed that we were inconveniencing him by checking in. He gave us the room key and no other information, like the entrance is in the rear of the building so we walked all the way around builidng trying to find a way in--which is also weird. We had to go back to the front desk to get the wifi password and he was completely rude. We did call the front desk but the call would'nt go through. This could be a great place, the room is beautiful, but the entire place needs a bath and an update. The bedding was ripped as were the pillows on the couch. The glass in the bathroom was stuck to the tray it was sitting on which was covered in dust and the refrigerator had food/drink debris in it as did the walls. The TV in the bedroom didn't work and the windows to the balcony were filthy. If they put some effort into it, it'll be a great place to stay but not as is.

Gorgeous view!

Posted Aug 23, 2017 on Orbitz
This was such a wonderful surprise! Looking at the "hotel" (really condos), I thought I had made a mistake booking here, but the room was huge, on the 9th floor, with an unobstructed view of the river and the battleship! The room itself had a lovely kitchen (not kitchenette) and a washer and dryer. Plus, the people at the front desk at check-in were very nice and professional. Highly recommend!
