The first room they put me in, the door lock was literally off of the door and on the dresser. I took it down to the front desk and got a different room. In my new room, the lock was on the door but there was a cheese wrapper on the nightstand and dirt on the fixtures and everything looked pretty dingy and dirty. The hotel is Old and needs repairs and updates. It was close to my brothers house and the beds seemed clean so it was okay for me, but still pretty gross.

Heater belt went on the heating A/C unit it was squealing so bad it woke us all up at 3am I tried to get it to stop squealing and I wound up turning the unit off. It was set at 69 so that shouldn't have been overworking the unit. So it was very uncomfortable to sleep. Finally we just turned the TV on and turned the unit back on and just dealt with it. Upon telling the manager about it at checkout the manager said because I didn't direct book with them there was nothing she could do for me. I told her it wasn't her fault but it should be fixed for the next person and she wouldn't even make eye contact just kept saying there was nothing she could do to cut my bill down. I never asked for a break on my bill. Very disappointed

Perfect for our purposes

Four of us were in three rooms. We were going to use the DC Metro the day after checking in to go into Washington DC and this location was about one hour west of the end of the Orange Line (Vienna/GMU station). All rooms were clean with pleasant decorating., comfortable beds, and acceptable (not too scratchy) towels There was some wear showing (woodwork, paint on corners of metal, etc.), but nothing major. The shower head, as in so many mid-range hotels, could easily be upgraded to something much better, but it was okay. Note: Leave a tip every day for the person who cleans your room, including the day you leave. This is well-known to be the most physically-demanding, yet lowest paid, job in the hotel industry. They work hard for their money!

Overall a great and comfortable stay, but my white socks were black the third day as we just relaxed in our room. A good steam cleaning is necessary.
