The Tinker Street Retreat is a 3 bedroom Dutch farmhouse built in 1753 with modern amenities, an artist's touch and lots of old world charm. Large living room with fireplace, projection screen and full sound home theater. Chef's kitchen, musical instruments, yoga mats, art and philosophy books, fire pit in a beautiful meadow, charcoal and gas grills, hammocks, gardens, small stream, trampoline, forest trails. And we are just a short walk to town!
The space
Tinker Street Retreat is on the edge of "downtown" Woodstock, right on the main road (there is some minimal road noise midday but by 8pm it’s very quiet). A great place for unwinding and relaxing. Watch movies on a large projection screen and full sound system while cuddled on a cozy sectional. There's also jamming in the music room, or creating magic in a kitchen designed for cooking (one of my passions!). We have a meadow, a small forest, gardens, stone fire pit, a few hammocks to swing in and even a trampoline.
A perfect home base for exploring the entire Catskills by day and then hopping out for fine dining, drinks or live bands nearby at night. Saugerties and Kingston are just minutes away for added options.

A car is pretty necessary up here for longer stays but plenty of people take the Trailways bus here and have a great time. If you are traveling light, the Trailways bus from Port Authority in NYC can actually let you off right on my driveway (!!). The stellar Sunfrost Farm market is next door so you can stock up on high quality local vegetables, produce and meats, and also eat breakfast or lunch there any day!

Our bedrooms are all queen size, each room with a unique character to it. Bathrooms have electric heaters for added comfort in the winter. The upstairs bathroom has an old fashioned ceramic tub with antique "telephone style" handheld shower, while downstairs is a glass walk in shower.
Guest access
Most Woodstock rentals offer a sterile house or designed condo. This is an actual "old school local's" hippie hideaway with 4 acres of grounds. The house is quirky and lived in. It has stories to tell. Please don't expect a W Hotel or Hyatt vibe, but do expect love and smiles at every turn.

The Tinker Street Retreat compound has one main house and two cottages further towards the forest. A laid back tenant lives in one. The other is being renovated through 2023. You might see people on premises going to these houses, but while you are there the main house and grounds are all yours to enjoy.
