“Room was quiet and peaceful and I had a good nights sleep. Downstairs smelt smoky and musty. Hotel could do with a bit of modernisation, also had an issue with my invoice when I checked out - I paid more than was on my invoice!”

“Absolute heaven from beginning to end. Delightful staff, the most beautiful lawn to sit out on with a drink (and fire pits for the evening), great food, super comfortable room and amazing spa treatments. Best weekend away ever!”

“The accommodation was clean and well maintained. I have to say we felt the charge of £25 per dog per night extortionate, I understand the rooms may require extra cleaning, but the charge in our opinion is too high. £25 per dog per stay is more justifiable.”

“Good old fashioned hotel, beautiful staircase and cosy bar, also a large sitting room. My room was on the third floor a lot of stairs to climb. Nice little room with small bathroom. It could have been a bit cleaner dust and hair in the little area outside the bathroom, but I liked the room and not enough to complain about, I would stay again.”

“This would have been an all over 'excellent' save for one issue immediately resolved by staff. The window catches in the ground floor room I was given which overlooked the garden could not be shut and locked to secure the room from the outside. As soon as I reported this, however, I was immediately offered another secure equally good room so it was resolved - the cleaning staff must have known but had not alerted management who were unaware till I drew it to its attention. That literally was……

“The Carlton Hotel is in a fantastic location, directly on Bournemouth seafront, and our sea-view room had a lovely view. The room was newly decorated, and the unusual beds were very comfortable. There is a bar on the ground floor with live music, but we were not disturbed by the band from our room. However, there were a few drawbacks. Our room was on the second floor and involved quite a lot of steps, corridors and interconnecting doors to reach it. There was no hairdryer in the room, although……

“We had a fantastic interaction with Matt the owner when we arrived. He told us everything we needed to know about the property and parking, asked if we needed help with our luggage. Told us about breakfast places. Was overall super friendly which was a great start. The room was super clean with towels laid on the bed, tea and coffee waiting with sugar and water and cookies. Bathroom was spotless. There was a welcome letter waiting for us outlining all we needed to know. Great stay. Will……

“overall the accommodation and staff were good and the grounds and location was very pleasant. However, on the Saturday evening we arrived back to the room at 8.30 pm to find in the garden a bbq, loads of people and very very loud music. We could not sleep, read or listen to the Tv and the music stopped at 11:59. Really spoiled our stay”
