"Great location near State Parks, beautiful coast line views from room balcony and restaurant, and heated pool. The only disappointment was that there is only one guest ice machine for the entire resort and it was broken; had to go to the restaurant to request ice for the room."

The hotel is an historical building so the rooms and bathrooms maintain the original footprint and size, which prohibited any enlargement of the very small bathroom. But given all the other perks La Playa offers we survived the small space and would definitely return. "

"The room was clean. Much more spacious than the images online. There was a good size table with two chairs, two nightstands, each with two outlets attached to the lamp. Fluffy pillows, tall comfy bed, fireplace which we used, and clean bathroom. Walls are a bit thin as we could hear the bath shower sounds of the next room which are behind the wall where our bed is located. "

"Could not have had a better stay at Stilwell! This hotel is squeaky clean, modern, pet friendly and in an amazing location. Staff are friendly and rooms are super cute and comfortable. They offer wood fired pizzas and a menu of other eats and drinks in the evenings. The outdoor space is relaxing and nicely decorated. I highly recommend staying here on your next trip to Carmel by the Sea!"
