Nice old school home

We enjoyed our stay very much. There was so much seating for entertaining and a big table to play card games. We had so much fun and a wonderful Christmas celebration. The location is great too, about ten minutes from anywhere in town.

Great Family Weekend

We came to town for a baby shower. Since we all travel from different directions, renting a house is the best choice. This home was perfect for all of us. The decor is very quaint and gives the home a real family feeling. We all enjoyed learning about the history of the home. Would love to stay there again.

Sparkling Clean

Wonderful property in a nice quiet neighborhood. Good location minutes from downtown, shopping, college, and golfing. The beds were comfortable and the vintage decor really unique!

Weekend Stay.

We were in Cookeville to visit our son and his family for his birthday. The house was comfortable and the neighborhood was peaceful. It’s much nicer than staying at a Hotel! Thank-You!

Wonderful Stay in a Beautiful Home!

It was a great venue to stay at. It's only an hour and a half away from Nashville so you can get to the city quickly and enjoy the city during the day and enjoy the small town during the night. The only "downside" was a small leak in the shower head, but honestly, it did not bother me at all. It was a great spot that makes you feel like home!

Vintage, beautiful and functioning well too!

This is a really charming home in quiet and safe neighborhood. We loved the hard wood floor throughout. We wished if we had more time to enjoy the warm and cozy sun room and the deck with fabulous view. If we are in the area, we will definitely come back!

Good location, very comfortable

The home is located in a nice, quiet neighborhood. It was clean and comfortable. I did leave a list of suggestions for the owner for it to be better for any future guests. Any issues were resolved by the owner. Really liked the library and piano. Had plenty of room. Would stay there again.

Nice Respite

My husband and I were getting away for a few days respite. As we are caretakers of my Mom and I work at home. It was quite and it was easy access to town. For the most part it was clean and tidy. However I did have to clean the bathtubs. We did miss having a TV as well. Overall we enjoyed our stay.

Quiet for adults, not kid friendly

Decent location. Our privacy was interrupted 3 times in the 4 day stay by the Host. Cleaning could have been better (dirty knife in floor in kitchen) a bunch of little black hairs on master bath floor. Not suitable for small children. Good for just a quiet get away.

Quiet, private and spacious home in a lovely neighborhood just outside of Cookeville.

After we sorted out the communication issues, we settled in to our “home away from home” for five days. It provided plenty of space for three adults. All the amenities were there, although the kitchen lighting could use some attention and upgrading. Provided us with the quiet we needed after the loud intensity of a competition at CrossFit Mayhem. Interesting family history is seen throughout the home. It suited our needs just fine!

Generally Nice

The property was generally lovely - very convenient and well stocked. It would have been nice to have a tv (the lack of tv/cable might have been in the listing and I missed it). A bigger complaint is that one of the beds is extremely uncomfortable. We noticed that this had been mentioned in the guest book by several others. Finally, the most serious complaint was that the thermostat went out on the second day. We contacted the host at 9 am, heard from her around 11:30 and 2:00 but were not really informed on whether heat was back until 5 pm. I was quite nervous by that time, especially since the host had indicated in her message that she would keep us up to date and might change the lock code. I don’t mind the thermostat issue - that can happen to anyone. I was quite stressed about the communication.

NOT READY FOR PRIMETIME The kitchen (which is poorly equipped) and dining area is spacious as well as the living room.The wood floors throughout are beautiful. However, the rest of the house itself is described as vintage when it is simply old and desperately in need of updates. Two of the three mattresses are worn out and in need of replacement. The primary bathroom faucet is stuck on hot and coming apart. One of the tubs Is grimy and in need of a good scrubbing. The bedside light is terrible. And the house is overwhelmed by dusty bookshelves that need cleaning.We came expecting a turntable and records to enjoy. However, the needle was bad and we could not play any of the albums which were mostly old time gospel. It’s obvious not much has been done to it since the grandparents passed away who originally owned it. Finally, there were four outside dogs next door that barked incessantly. This property has great potential but is sorely neglected.
