The bedroom has a queen bed and a twin sofa sleeper, and the common area has full sofa sleeper (sleeps 5) and is nestled in a beautiful valley surrounded by the Black Hills National Forest. The cabin is secluded with only one other rental cabin on the property (Cabin 2, VRBO # 2325869). In 2024 our internet provider finished their fiber optics installation, now providing us with high-speed internet service. Your morning view will often include white tail and mule deer coming down the hillside to graze in the meadow. Within minutes of Custer State Park, this cabin includes amenities of a full kitchen with eat in area, newly renovated bathroom, internet and TV, gas grill, and can sleep 5 guests with a queen bed, full sofa sleeper, and twin sofa sleeper. After a day of enjoying all the Black Hills has to offer, spend your evening relaxing around the fire pit. The Cabin is located at 12554 Hazelrodt Cutoff which is 3 miles from Custer, SD, 1.2 miles south on Sydney Park Road, county oil, 1.9 miles east on Hazelrodt Cutoff, county gravel, then left at the HIDDEN VALLEY CABIN sign, follow the driveway to the first cabin on the right. Great cabin for a couple or a family up to 5\. This cabin along with cabin 2 would be great option for two families to enjoy their vacation together. We have a trail camera, when it is turned on it only covers the parking area and the fire pit (not the cabins or the area around the cabins). Lots of wilderness for us to explore, but still close to most of the items on our must see list.The kids loved the deer that would come up close to the cabin in the late evenings and early mornings and sit outside and watch them. Mary and James were wonderful hosts, checking on us when we arrived making sure all our questions were answered. Wonderful cabin located in the Black Hills! Minutes from the town of Custer which has grocery store, tourist shops, and food options. Excellent location to Custer State Park, wild life loop, Sylvan lake, Legion lake, Mt Rushmore, and much more. The cabin was wonderful! Very clean, great patio for sitting, yard space for running around, and a very peaceful fire pit! Kitchen and gas grill were great for cooking our own meals. Cabin was surrounded by easy to hike hills for our two boys age 13 and 10\. Very quiet location! The cabin worked great for our family of 5\. We have 3 kids ages 10 and under. It gave them space to play outside, explore the forest, bonfires, nature walks. The cabin was clean and has what you needed without packing everything. Downtown Custer is 4 miles away and has a great grocery store and lots of shops to check out. Located in an area that allows you to take day trips out to see all the sights. Jim and Mary were great. Answered the questions we had right away. It was easy to find a few miles outside of Custer, SD. The cabin was fully equipped with everything we needed, including in the kitchen. Met Mary, the host, when she was prepping the other cabin onsite for new guests and had a nice time talking to her. We used the fire pit on our last night (there is a separate fire pit for each cabin) and had a great time together. There was even a container of water present to put out the fire when we were done. Our family of four stayed here and it met our needs perfectly. The cabin was very clean and organized and the hosts were communicative and left detailed information about all aspects of the property. The location was amazing and it was so easy to access all of our Black Hills adventures from the cabin!
