VRBO has problems with the transparency of the total financial transaction and to make any financial corrections very slowly. VRBO doesn't disclose upon reservation how long it takes to refund your deposit. Also, there is a charge for damages. However, there isn't any explanation of why you must obtain damage insurance and leave a deposit. If there are any problems with the original property selection and must be changed this becomes a nightmare. We still haven't received initial deposit from original property or the actual property we stayed in. VRBO customer service representatives continue to re-read notes of case or claim to resolve your issues and pushing resolution 4 to 6 weeks out!!!! The secondary property chosen was average at best. Even after the property own received average reviews regarding property, he or she hadn't made any changes or upgrades. The linen in bedrooms were unclean. My overall perception of VRBO is below average as relating to mid-level properties and poor regarding customer service. I am not one who even rights reviews, but the property and customer service was poor. I understand things happen and go wrong. However, when the internal controls and disclosures are absent it leads to a very poor experience. RENTER BEWARE!!
