“The hotel is in a beautiful and restful setting. The staff could not have been more helpful. The restaurant food was brilliant. We enjoyed seeing the peacocks and other birds in the grounds.”

“Food was great, staff very helpful, bar and dining room very tidy and clean, good range of drinks, both alcoholic and soft although I am out of touch with prices so had a bit of a shock. This is not a negative, just reality. Plenty of parking and convenient at the rear to avoid stairs. Some areas are in need of decorating such as stairwell and corridors however not terrible. Outside areas need tidying around the back of the building but the beer garden/smoking area was good. Wheel chair……

“Very clean hotel with very helpful staff however the restaurant menu should be changed more we stayed 4days but due to the poor menu we only ate in the restaurant once, due to the location it is very difficult to eat in other places The facilities were excellent”

“Had a lovely night away. Room was clean and nice to have a fridge with fresh milk for coffee etc. Breakfast was delicious and lots of choice. Outside areas are great for relaxing and nice to have an outside pool. In a quiet area but within walking distance to the beach, train station and town. Great hosts. Would definitely recommend. “Avoid, avoid, avoid. Quite possibly the worst place I have stayed. It's not 'normal pub noise', it's club music from 15years ago playing until around midnight. No soundproofing. Room was filthy, hairs on top of the bed (didn't lift the quilt to see what was underneath); floor hadn't been vacuumed, was dirty and heavily stained: toilet hadn't been flushed, let alone cleaned, whatever was in there had been festering for what looked like a week. No air con and no fan in the room. Room felt……

“Highly recommend staying here! The staff were incredibly friendly, the breakfast every morning was delicious, and the owner, Mike, was so welcoming. The location is excellent! Just a short walk to the harbour and the ferry to Kingswear, making it the perfect base for exploring the area.”

“We stayed for one night only and the reception was friendly. We bought a plug-in air freshener as the room smelt funky. The single bed was uncomfortable. Very noisy at night due to karaoke - but this was the summer in Paignton so I guess it’s normal. Hotel is near the main strip so very convenient. ”
