“Self service check in, room could do with a bit of an update, paint peeling off the ceiling, we had to jam the door with a business card to stop it rattling in the wind, but it was good for what we paid for! It was cheap & cheerful! Clean bedding and comfy bed! Would we stay again?? Yes!!”
“Lovely hotel and close to amenities. Has free parking on site which is a bonus. Room was very clean and comfortable. Complimentary breakfast was very good, freshly cooked to order. Staff nice and friendly will definitely stay again .”
“Had 1 night here, great location for le shuttle. Perfect for what we needed, food was lovely! Only issue we had was the noises from the bathroom, when flushing the toilet or using the taps. They have a macerator system in place! Otherwise perfect for what we needed!”
“Convenient location and good service. Staff are nice. Breakfast is good. Only thing is that their carparking space is limited in number and needs separate payment.”
“Overall we had a great stay at the Ship Inn . Staff were lovely especially the male member of staff who served us in the restaurant with drinks and food . He went over and above to please had a wonderful friendly personality . A great asset to the team . Sorry we didn’t get your name .
The down sides were the mattress in the Royal room needs replacing and we were kept awake until 1am by either an argument going on or very loud animated talking !
The absolute positive of our visit was the food……
“Lodge was beautiful in a very quiet secluded wooded area. It was well equipped with everything you need. Hot tub, BBQ and seating area lovely. Very comfortable bed and kitchen had everything you need. Really great stay.”
“The Mermaid Inn is a very old listed building with bags of history. As such, you don't expect there to be a lift, and the floorboards creak, but I got to sleep in a 4-poster bed which is not something you would experience in a modern hotel! The staff were always friendly and helpful, the bars were well stocked and the food good. It was a different and enjoyable experience, which I would recommend to anyone planning to come to the beautiful town of Rye.”
