“Bathrooms were dirty in the corners and walls. Room ac was good but halls and lobby were very hot. Pool had a mildew smell. Check out was 11 am but staff tried to enter a little after 8 am even with a do not disturb sign on the door.”

The location is very good, shopping and dining are convenient, the front desk is fast, the room has no odor, the location is easy to find, and there is free wireless internet. I chose a family room, that can accommodate 5 people. The price is very cost-effective and the stay experience is good! It is worth recommending this hotel.”

“Upon arrival the front desk staff was very warm, welcoming and helpful. We stayed in the Family Apartment. The unit was extremely clean, updated and spacious. We were roughly a half mile from downtown and all the shops which made it extremely nice to be able to walk and not have to take the car. Stage Run By the Sea is definitely a hidden gem.”

“The location was excellent in terms of access to Newburyport's harbor, restaurants, walking paths and downtown area. The walk across the bridge was as described. I had a standard room. The bed and bedding were good, and the room had a large television on the wall. The bathroom setup was also good. What was missing for me was a place to sit other than the bed. There was a table underneath the tv with one straightback chair. The setup would not have worked at all for me if there had been……

“Just some facts: Room rented stated queen bed. It was a standard/double, no larger. Painting above the bed was constantly "clicking " against the wall when the fan was running. We were on the 3rd floor and had to walk up skinny porches to our room. Several doors and windows, on our walk up, were painted black, I assume for privacy. It was very cheap looking. Parking was atrocious. Space was on gravel, behind the building, between old broken lattice boards, old cement pieces, rocks and……

“The bar outside still closed from last years stay as it was this past weekend :( There was no hair blower in our room 109 but there was one in my sons room, 310. The breakfast area was nice and coffee too. Friendly reception and good welcoming from the desk employees. The place needs more parking area for people coming back from a later diner time around 8:30 pm.”

“This is a lovely place. The rooms were clean and the decor was thoughtfully chosen — not overbearing or kitschy. The kitchenette had all the necessary dishes, utensils and pots. The small grounds were nice and conducive to ready. The location was great. Very close to downtown Portsmouth and the price was reasonable, especially when compared with those just a couple of miles away in Portsmouth.”
