However, it is in major need of an update, and the non-existent front desk does not make it very inviting to stay. Was difficult to even find our room.. they provide a 'map' with the key in a lockbox, but it is illegible ...the room was very dated, gross carpet and dusty in places. Also not the cleanest bathroom. It is a shame, because this property has a lot of potential. The setting is quite beautiful, surrounded by nature. Lots of plants and the brook is very special. I really hope that someone will be willing to invest into this property soon. Upon arriving at check-in time, we were met with a closed office and a note to call the posted number for assistance. Upon calling, I got a voicemail and we were left to wonder how long we'd be there before someone showed up to check us in. A few moments later we were called back and given a code to access a lock box to get the key to our room. Upon entering the room, it did not live up to the photos on the website and we were greeted with a musty dusty smell that reminded us of grandma's attic. While the furnishing were fine and the bed comfortable, the carpet was worn and looked very dated. But oh well, at least the room was big and the bed was comfortable. The next day, we explored the town and the beach and returned to our room to find that it had not been serviced at all. Again, not a soul around and the office remained closed with the same note from the day before to call for assistance. I called yet again and got the voicemail again. A few minutes later, I got a returned call and the rep seemed surprised that our room had not been cleaned. She said she'd send someone over right away to provide us with some clean towels. about a half an hour later later, a maid stopped and started cleaning the room while we were sitting on the bed. The issue is still unsolved and we were charged twice. I would not stay here again nor would I would recommend it to anyone.
