We loved the 1 king bed suite we stayed in. It had all the amenities, including mini fridge, microwave, two televisions, coffee maker and lots of storage space. Also, bathroom was nicely done. We would definitely recommend confidently.

Holiday Inn Express Richmond - Midlothian Turnpike by IHG is a hotel in transition. I arrived on a weekday afternoon and noticed a number of construction workers outside the main entrance. I have to assume that they had been working on or preparing to work on the property, which had a number of shipping containers positioned around the grounds. There were also at least two pallets of materials in the hotel lobby. The property is in need of a refresh, in my opinion. The walls of the hallway where I stayed appeared to have been gouged out by what I assume were the edges of housekeeping carts. This greatly detracted from the appearance of the hotel. There were a number of vending machines just off of the lobby for visitors who needed to grab a quick snack. There were also what I believe were complimentary coffee brewing machines in the lobby itself. I do not recall seeing any water fountains. The complimentary breakfast buffet was quite nice. This hotel has a courtyard with a small sitting area as well as a pool. I believe the pool was closed for the season when I visited. The staff was friendly enough, but the woman who checked me in was very soft-spoken to the point where it was hard to hear her or even, at points, to be certain she was addressing me.
