This 2-bedroom cabin is perfect for your escape to the great North Woods. Nestled in a tranquil setting on 10 private acres, our fabulous property offers a cozy yet modern retreat for guests. You'll have easy access to hiking, biking, ATV, and snowmobile trails throughout the State Forest and the Superior National Forest surrounding the cabin, including 700 acres of public land directly across the street to the north.

Inside, the cabin boasts a freshly remodeled setting. As you enter, you'll find a spacious open area that includes a fully equipped kitchen, allowing you to prepare your own meals. The dining table seats six, and the comfortable living room, complete with a Smart TV, provides a perfect spot to relax after a day of outdoor adventures. The cabin has two bedrooms with comfortable beds for a restful night’s sleep—one queen bed, two full beds, and an additional queen pull-out bed in the living room. With amenities like a washer and dryer, grill, firepit, and high-speed internet, you'll have everything you need for a comfortable stay.

Centrally located between Pelican, Side Lake, and Lake Vermilion—all less than a 30-minute drive—you'll have easy access to numerous beaches and public boat launches. Side Lake features a giant sandy beach area perfect for family fun, while Lake Vermilion, just 20 minutes away, makes this cabin a budget-friendly option for fishermen who don’t need to stay right by the water but do need ample parking for their trailers and boats.

Four wheeling getaway

This was the perfect stay for our weekend family four wheeling trip. The accommodations were fantastic. I was looking for something updated, comfortable and clean and this property did NOT disappoint. I would stay here again!

Magical Stay in the Vineyards

We had an amazing stay at this beautiful castle in the vineyards. The property felt pretty magical, surrounded by gorgeous redwoods, which created such a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere. The house itself was very cozy and comfortable — plenty of space to spread out and feel at home.The party/pool room was a highlight — we had so much fun hanging out and playing pool. The hot tub was also a great touch, perfect for unwinding at the end of the day. The location couldn’t be better, with lots of fantastic wineries nearby.Overall, it was a perfect stay, and we would absolutely come back again!

Our up north stay

It’s a good home base for side by siding and visiting our family in that area. Very nice, new and clean place to stay. There is a very good place near by call South Switch for food and beverages. Huge portions and good.

Unique and wonderful place!

This castle is one of a kind with an interesting and fun history which the host will share Along with many wonderful recommendations of things to do in the area - wine tasting, hiking along the coast and in the redwoods, live music, shopping, restaurants, kayaking

Castle House

The Castle House is an eclectic place to stay. The game room looks like a former biker bar, not that that’s a problem. An old Harley is even hanging on the wall. Beautiful back yard with bright green ivy and tall redwood trees. Even an old tractor covered in ivy. Kitchen completely decked out. No need to bring a thing. We wish the weather could have been better to enjoy the beautiful patio redwood decks.

25th anniversary at the Castle

What a charming place. Loved the area and the proximity to so many things to do. Michael gave some amazing recommendations on where to go and what restaurants were his favourites. We came down for our 25th with our two kids and two other dear friends. Would come back again.

Awesome Castle and beautiful settings amongst the redwood trees!

What a wonderful place to get away. Michael, the host was so friendly and told us the history of the castle. This was a four day getaway with friends and we would love to go back as soon as possible. The home was warm and cozy very unique. The amenities were perfect. first class beddings something you would expect in a five star hotel. Great kitchen with everything you can possibly need to prepare a meal.. We can’t wait to go back!

Wine week

6 of us spent 5 nights in wine country. We had a great time both wine tasting and sightseeing around the area. The host was very informative and gave great shook things to do in the area. The castle house was the unique place we were looking for. Everything was as listed, beds were comfortable and the kitchen area was well stocked. We enjoyed playing pool each night, something we don’t typically do. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a fun spot to stay when in wine country.

Perfect location for a biking tour of Sonoma!

Wonderful property. It feels like you're in a secluded location since you're surrounded by towering redwoods! This place is centrally located in the valley and was a great location to cycle out from! Michael is a fantastic host and spends as much time with you as needed to make sure you know where to go in the area.

Friends Visit to Wine Country

We had a great time visiting wine country with a group of six friends! Michael Ray was wonderful and very accommodating, he even met us after a late flight in the evening of our arrival. Plenty of things to do, centrally located and very smooth process overall. The house is very unique and we enjoyed our stay.

Wonderful stay

We stayed at Michael's place for a week to celebrate Thanksgiving. The place was clean and comfortable and had all the cookware and bakeware needed for our Thanksgiving feast. We used the hot tub and the deck space and enjoyed them both. Michael checked in on us to see if we needed anything and also dropped off some apples he had just picked from his tree. I would stay here again in minute

Lovely Sonoma

A unique property nestled in vineyards in the heart of wine country. The host, Michael, was very helpful even before we arrived, and upon arrival, gave a thorough orientation at the property. We appreciated all the advice about wineries to visit as well as some discount coupons. We had 4 wine tastings. shopped, ate great meals, visited the Charles Schulz musem, and had a little excursion to the ocean. All doable in 4 full days.

A stay in the castle

I booked the castle for its quirky title, interesting pictures, location & its size (we had a pretty big group). Michael Ray, and partner Kristen were lovely. Michael met us upon arriving to the castle. He gave us a history of the house, and more than a few great suggestions for places to visit, wine tastings and activities. Honestly the BEST experience with a host EVER! He put the icing on a wonderful vacation cake!

Knew nothing about wine until now

Great location for day trips, north, south, east or west. Plenty of room won't be on top of each other. Michael gives great suggestion, I would strongly recommend. Kitchen full stocked for cooking.

Had a great time!

We really enjoyed our stay at the Castle House. I have to say, we were a little concerned about what we would find after reading a recent review. Fortunately, what we did find was nothing like that review. The beds were comfortable, the house was fresh and clean and the spa was crystal clear. Michael was a gracious host sharing winery, restaurant, and day trip suggestions. We look forward to our next visit to the Castle House!
