“We absolutely loved our stay at Kingfisher. It was perfectly located to explore the Big Bend Area and a great place to just relax and enjoy beautiful sunrises, starry nights and sunsets. This modern home was clean, very comfortable and “well equipped”. Check in and checkout was effortless. Highly recommended stay…we stayed 5 nights and was sad to leave.”

“Quiet. Peaceful. Wonderful open spaces and so many stars! Communication with host was great, check-in was easy. Main cantina has shared refrigerators and space to put your groceries as well as a small fridge and microwave in the room. Bring water as the tap is non-potable. Off grid living at its finest!!! Will be back!”

“This was my second time visiting and it did not disappoint! The stone cottage is a quaint reminder of a more simple time. Plenty of things to do in the area or one can sit on the sky deck and enjoy the stars! Ingrid is so friendly and helpful! A little gem in the desert!”

“The property was beautiful and we loved the remote feeling. The stars were beautiful to watch at night! My only complaint is that two weeks before the reservation I asked about if a portable grill, stovetop burner or small charcoal grill was aloud and then messaged two days before and never received an answer. I did have to contact the host day of to receive the code because somehow I didn’t get an email from the host about check in and WiFi code. That was sorted out when I called instead of……

“Absolutely loved our stay! Beautiful home! It was very clean, had everything we needed for a 3 day weekend. We brought our Shelby Cobra in a trailer so we could ride it through the Davis Mountains and to Terlingua etc. it was the perfect spot in between both with room to park our trailer. Hosts were very friendly and communicated throughout the process. We will definitely be back!”

“We stayed here for two nights while visiting the McDonald Observatory in the Davis Mountains. The unit itself was clean, the A/C worked very well, and there was plenty of hot water.There were, however, a few areas that could use some attention. The photos of the back patio are outdated. The space currently has a patio table and a plastic picnic table, but the patio table hadn’t been cleaned in quite some time. The umbrella was a nice touch and provided good shade, but there was an empty water……
