Quaint cabin w/hot tub-10 min from Helen!

Small cozy cabin in the woods, close to Helen. We have a new hot tub, grill, internet, fireplace and 50 inch smart TV for your comfort. 20 mins from Cleveland, 10 minutes from Helen and 5 minutes from Unicoi State Park. Flexible with pets.
One thing we love about the property is the peacefulness. It does get very quiet at night sometimes and this is very relaxing. We do also enjoy making the occasional trips to Helen for some of the great restaurants and things to do there such as tubing down the river. There is also occasional wildlife, this is the mountains.

FYI the name of the cabin is Southern Oak Inn

Other Things To Note
The road leading to the cabin is a little rough. We make it just fine in our cars( Honda Civic and Accord) but the ride can be bumpy at the end.

Peace and Quiet

This was a great little cabin for a quiet get-away. Isolated enough to get peace and quiet, but close enough to be in Helen in no time at all! Kitchen was well stocked with all the essentials. Would highly recommend for a couple or small family.

Awesome getaway

It was a great lil cozy spot on the hills. Close to the awesome little town Helen. We loved getting in the hot tub, after a good day being out and about at all the fun attractions in parks.

Love the location and the coziness. The surface cleaning was great, however the dust build up on the wall in bedroom from ceiling fan was bad. Lights burnt out outside.

We LOVED it

We truly enjoyed our stay. Gregg was an absolutely wonderful host. The place was clean and had everything we needed. The hot tub was clean and felt great after a long day of walking Helen. Literally the only thing we had trouble with was the driveway. It is very narrow and needs som limbs clipped. It would probably be ok had we drove my mid size SUV but my husband struggled with his truck on the drive up to the cabin. We enjoyed our stay so much that we will definitely be back. Thank you again Gregg for everything!

Romantic bday get away

Had the most romantic and fun time for my bday may 24th-27th. Mr. Greg was an excellent host. If I had a question about something he was always ready to answer. The place is so awesome. It was clean, & had everything you need with some extras. Definitely returning soon & hopefully many many more times.

Hot tub is very dirty.It did work though.I lost my keys and looked in couch, big mistake.The tub had a slow drain from hair that was not mine.... Cabin is great,needs deep clean.

Quiet Mountain Cabin near Helen

We enjoyed our 4 night stay. October is a great time to visit with the beautiful Fall foliage & Oktoberfest celebration in Helen. The cabin sleeps 4, but I don’t recommend 2 couples because the beds don’t have full privacy & there’s 1 bathroom. Cabin could use a deep cleaning, rear-side outside lighting didn’t work, hottub was on a timer & we didn’t know how to bypass that, & the gas grill needs repairing or replacing. Also, there’s no cable or satellite tv, so you need your own streaming service or you can’t watch tv. So just expect a rustic mountain cabin - not the Ritz - & you will enjoy your stay !

Fiasco

Left the fact that it was on a dirt road ,left that out of the VRBO ad. Screen door needs replaced screen almost out. Bathroom dirty,trash outside still full nowhere to put our trash. I could handle the dirt road but potholes were bad.

It was a good visit

We love the location and we don't mind that it isn't a fancy cabin but a few small changes would make it so much better. The beds are terrible and so loud you wake yourself up every time you move while sleeping. I recommend putting hooks up on the walls by both beds so you can hang your bath towel to dry. The dish washer takes up so much room on the counter and the dishes are to big for it so you have to hand wash anyway. This is our second stay here and I made some of these suggestions last year in hopes that some of them would be made. The location is great and the owner is very nice and left us a cookie cake as a welcome back which was very thoughtful.

Cute cabin

We wanted privacy and this little cabin was perfect for it. Helen and Unicoi State park are really close. As the owner stated, the road is a little rough, but we had no problems with the road or getting up to the cabin. Great for a weekend getaway.Would definitely stay here again.
