“Attentive and friendly staff, good breakfast, parking off street next to B&B was useful, room well decorated and held the usual TV, kettle, drinks etc.”

“We absolutely loved our brief stay here, would have happily stayed longer and plan to return if in the area. The property is beautiful and sits in stunning grounds, which we thoroughly explored thanks to the walk recommended by Stuart. We were made to feel very welcome by Ben at reception. Our room was spacious, clean, and comfy. We dined at the restaurant and had an exceptional meal. Stuart was once again on hand to recommend a local ale and take us through the vegan options. The food was……

“The Hill Hotel was a great. Everything was immaculate . Location was great as well. Less than a 5 minute walk from train station and very close to town. The owners Lynne and Terry were fabulous host. Hopefully going back to Scotland in couple of years and will definitely stay here again.”

“This is a cracking flat within a short walk of Dumfries town centre. From the outside, the flats don’t look too inspiring, but it’s clearly been renovated recently and it’s been done really nicely. The two rooms are pretty much identical doubles, and the living room/kitchen is a good size. Nice views of the river from most rooms, and a lovely small balcony coming off the main living area. Would definitely come back if in the area.”

“A unique Scottish hotel that is in the process of being renovated. Food was good and staff friendly, though reception appeared to be unstaffed. My room was one of the older ones so the renovation will be a big benefit but overall the hotel was great value and much better than an anonymous generic chain hotel.”

“Shame previous owners let the hotel go to disrepair as it was a wonderful place. 100% respect to the new owner who is doing a great, time consuming task (without the help of planning department) to bring this Hotel/Restaurant back to the great place it was.”

“I can’t fault the Sure Hotel in Lockerbie. A beautiful building, fantastic en suite room, very clean and modern. Or host, the manager Glen couldn’t have been more helpful. Plenty of free secure parking and we ended up taking a lovely stroll into Lockerbie for dinner. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend the hotel, great staff who are so helpful. We’ll definitely be going again. ”
