Terrible Staff - would not recommend

My husband had an interview with the Secret Service, and so we drove down from MA to Maryland for his interview. We booked this hotel initially because it wasn't a bad price, and still got decent enough reviews where we weren't concerned. We arrived at the hotel around 8:30ish, and had been driving for about 7+ hours, so we were tired. We had to get up around 4am, for his interview so we basically checked in and went to bed. Around 11:30pm we heard an obnoxiously loud knock on our door that both startled us. My husband got up and checked on it and it was the front desk person. My husband asked him a million times why on earth he needed to come in and he responded with "I need to come in sir", we explained to him that this was not OK and that we had to get up for an interview very early the next morning, and it was going to be a long 12+ hour day for my husband due to exams and interviews all day. We finally just had enough and let him check our room, which he did then left with just saying "OK". No thank you for letting me look, no apology, no reason as to why, absolutely nothing. We figured it was because it smelled a little like someone had smoked but weren't sure. We weren't given a reason. We did not sleep at all and were so angry/violated that he woke us up without regard to our peace of mind. I've never had an experience like this and would NOT recommend a place that wakes up sleeping guests in the middle of the night.
