Welcome to Cardinal Ridge, a serene mountain estate, nestled along the ridgeline on 4 private acres. With stunning mountain views, almost any amenity you could dream of, and close proximity to Asheville, this newly remodeled, 5500 sq ft mountain house makes for the perfect vacation getaway. \*Driving Distance\* 15 miles to downtown Asheville 13 miles to the adventure center of Asheville \*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\* Main Level: Kitchen and Dining Room Living Room (2) King bedrooms (2) Full Private Bathrooms (1) Half Bathroom Two-story arcade/Gameroom As you enter Cardinal Ridge, you are greeted with a beautifully crafted mountain house. Outfitted with hardwood floors, custom finishes, and panoramic windows, you feel right at home while you take in the views of the surrounding mountains. The entryway leads to a large, well-appointed kitchen, stocked with all the supplies you would need to cook a gourmet meal. The adjoining dining area has scenic views from every angle and can set up to 14 (an additional four seats are available at the bar for larger groups). The spacious family room has a gas-burning stone fireplace, 75 inch flat-screen Smart TV, ample seating, and gorgeous mountain views off the back window. Off the living area are two of the house's King suites, each equipped with a king bed set, en suite bath and a flat-screen TV. One of the two also has an attached nursery (crib and changing table included) for those traveling with little ones. Beyond the living room is Cardinal Ridge's arcade, a two-story game room, with 750 sq ft of space. Between shuffleboard, pop-a-shot, foosball, skeeball, darts, and dance-dance revolution, as well as an assortment of arcade and pinball machines, you will never run out of ways to stay entertained. \*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\* Upper Level: (2) King bedrooms (1) Full shared bathroom Continuing up the stairs, the upper level of the house has 2 bedrooms and a full bathroom. Both bedrooms have king bed sets and views of the surrounding mountains. \*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\* Lower Level: Billards Movie Theater (12 seats) (3) King Bedrooms (1) Kid's themed bedroom with (3) twins (2) Full bathrooms Continuing back down the stairs, you'll find Cardinal Ridges' lower level. The staircase leads to a second family room, equipped with a pool table and an electric fireplace. Off to the western wing of the lower level, you will find 3 of the bedrooms, two with king beds, and one kid's themed room with three twin-sized beds. Two of these rooms have fantastic views of the surrounding mountains. The eastern side of the lower level houses the final bedroom, with a king bed and a private walk-out entry door. If you'd like to roast some popcorn, relax, and catch a movie, there is also a 12-seat cinema in the eastern wing, with authentic theatre-style carpet and seating, and an 75" TV. The level also has two full bathrooms, that can be accessed by any of the bedrooms. \*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\* Outdoor Areas: As specular as the interior is, the true beauty of Cardinal Ridge can only be experienced from the outdoor living areas. You'll find a two-story deck, with stunning views of the mountains and plenty of seating for everyone in your group. Sit around our gas-burning fire table and take in the mountain views. Or enjoy dinner outside with dining for 16, cooked on either our grill or outdoor pizza oven. Further down the property, you'll find a wood-burning fire pit, perfect for making s'mores with the family. Gather around in comfortable seating and build a bonfire with the entire group. Relax in our oversized hot tub or warm up in our cedar barrel sauna, both just steps from the door. House management discloses this but just to reiterate - the driveway path up to the house is extremely steep and tough for most Ubers. We rented a bus and it did get up and down the hill but it is very steep and windy. Just be prepared. The house is spacious and beautifully decorated, with a perfect layout that offered something for everyone in our family.One of the things we loved most was how well the home catered to all ages. Whether it was the kids enjoying the cinema and game/arcade rooms or the adults relaxing in the fire pit areas, cozy living room, balcony, and outdoor spaces, there was never a moment when we felt crowded. It truly felt like there was a spot for everyone to unwind and enjoy themselves.The kitchen was fully stocked, making it easy to prepare meals together, and the hot tub, game room, BBQ, and backyard fire pit area added extra fun to our stay. We also appreciated the little touches, like the welcome gift and the host’s thoughtful recommendations for local attractions, which made us feel right at home.Overall, our family had an amazing time, and we are already talking about when we can come back. We had an unforgettable stay at this incredible rental in the North Carolina mountains! From the moment we arrived, we were blown away by the breathtaking views — the property offers panoramic vistas of the mountains that are absolutely stunning, especially from the outdoor sitting area. We spent hours relaxing here, soaking in the views and enjoying the fresh mountain air. The home itself is spacious and thoughtfully designed, with plenty of room for everyone to spread out. The fully stocked kitchen made meal prep a breeze, and we loved cooking together and dining in the comfort of the home. The outdoor firepit area was another highlight — we gathered around at night enjoying the warmth and the clear mountain skies. One of the best features was the arcade and game rooms. Our family spent countless hours playing games and bonding — the kids (and adults!) were kept entertained for hours each day. The hot tub and sauna was also a perfect way to unwind after a day of exploring and hiking (we also also went white water rafting and mountain biking). One thing to note: The driveway up is long, CRAZY steep, and a bit perilous...not for the faint hearted! We loved it, but it was the middle of summer. We would definitely not stay here in winter months! Outside of the driveway, this property truly has everything you could want for a mountain getaway. It’s peaceful, spacious, and filled with all the amenities you need for a memorable family vacation. We had ages 5-80 (16 of us!) and there was plenty of space for everyone and lots to do. We really enjoyed all of the games and the theater room. The beds and bedding were all very comfortable and nice quality. Same for towels. The only thing I would warn about is that the road up to the house is quite steep, narrow, and winding. 2 of us had sedans and were able to make it just fine but there is a part of the road that is unpaved and a bit difficult. Also, you would not want to drive on this road at night. Also, the house has a lot of stairs so someone who isn’t comfortable with that might want to stay somewhere else. There are stairs to get to pretty much every part of this house as it is on a hillside. I definitely recommend this property for family’s and friend’s trips. I will note that if roads are wet or icy then getting there is quite difficult. There was eight of us, so we rented a van to get there. We arrived after dark and found the roads were hard to maneuver through in the dark. Not a lot of lighting and roads were narrow. (We almost fell off the mountain at one turn.) So the next day we ended up having to rent two jeeps and returning the van without any refund. This cost us over double for vehicle rental. It rained most of the time we were there and didn’t want to risk slipping down the mountain. This of course is not the fault of the property owner just should be noted that 4 wheel drive is definitely needed. The pictures do not do it justice and we enjoyed our time here so much. We enjoyed touring the parks and sites, then returning to share a meal with family, hang by the fire and have competitions on the arcade games. The biggest challenge we encountered is that we didn’t want to leave! We are a bunch of old folks and acted as if we were kids the whole time there. We loved ALL the entertainment options! I booked our stay 6 months in advance for a bachelorette weekend with 15 ladies. This house was perfect for us. The kitchen was fully equipped for us to cook daily and dine in together. Julia already had coffee, utensils, wine glasses, literally everything we needed (besides the food and condiments of course). The hot tub, arcade, fireplace, sauna was perfect so everyone could enjoy their activity of choice. The morning view was spectacular, will definitely book here again.
