It is right on the water and so peaceful. You can listen to the waves at night. Loved the fire ring, the porch out front. The beds are so comfortable. Everything was great!”

“We really enjoyed our weekend here. Quiet and secluded, but still very close to Grand Marais. A path just outside accesses a whole network of trails, we hiked to Pincushion Mountain. And the SHT connects here as well if you want to go further. The furnishings are simple in a very nice way; a folding table with two folding chairs, an electric kettle and a mini fridge are great for morning coffee or simple meals. The only thing we would have changed would be trading the two twin beds for a single……

“Great place to stay! Very happy with the bunkhouse and the amenities. The host was VERY communicative about the property and what to expect which was great for us. We would happily stay again. No running water (yet, they might in the future), but we knew that going in and it wasn’t an issue for us at all. Close to grand marais and the Canadian border. ”

“We had an amazing time at Hovland Hut. The cabin was clean and well stocked. The surroundings were gorgeous and the wood stove warmed up our little cabin perfectly. The sauna was perfect and we used it every day. ”
