About this property

Penty with land, quiet, in the countryside, 2 miles away from the sea

  • For a quiet holiday, in tranquillity away from noise, in the heart of the Crozon peninsula. On an unfenced plot but bordered by hedges and trees. Old farm house with large fireplace. South-facing terrace. Ideal for rest. For a happy holiday.
    VERY IMPORTANT
The house is heated mainly with electricity, so for the sake of fairness and energy savings, electricity is extra. You pay for your consumption, not that of the uneconomical customers.

    .

    Finistère from Finistère

The Menez-Hom from its 330 meters of altitude dominates the Crozon Peninsula, from its summit, a natural dungeon you discover this prodigious trident, a very astonishing architecture of capes, shores, coves and bays whose lines, aspects, tones, din and contrasts are so profoundly disconcerting to the uninterrupted rolling of the surf beating and stirring sand and pebbles.
The central hook of the prodigious trident of granite, sandstone, quartz that Brittany at its extremity plunges into the side of the ocean: Pointe Saint-Mathieu-Fin-de-Terre to the north, Pointe du Raz de sein to the south and, just between the two, this Crozon Peninsula of which the mass of the Menez-Hom between the Bay of Brest and the Bay of Douarnenez, is the starting point, and has always been the safety lock.
Here, Marshal d'Aumont, snatching Roscanvel from the Spanish occupiers of the Wars of Religion, and a century more flawed, Marshal Vauban forbidding Camaret to the Anglo-Dutch attackers, set up long-range lookout posts for their coastguard militias...
(According to Georges Gustave Toudouze, a writer and adopted Camaretois resident, the quay in Camaret bears his name.)

And did you know that in this bay of Douarnenez which is offered to you from this Menez-Hom, lie the ruins of the city of Ys? A sunken city with its inhabitants... Sometimes when the winds are favourable you can hear the bells of Ys the cursed. If you are interested in the history of our country, then you will discover King Gradlon, Saint Guénolé, King Mark... Beautiful stories to discover...

Draw a line from the Pointe des Espagnols to the Cap de la Chèvre, in the middle just above the pond a place of calm and rest, Perros-Poullouguen, a hamlet of peasant-thatched cottagers.
For centuries these men practiced the art of roofing with reeds, owning a few plots of the pond of Kerloc'h, they cut the reeds and prepared them to make the roofs of the Peninsula. A few roofs still remain made of this Kerloc'h reed, but today slate has been preferred, undoubtedly more rational and also safer.
You will discover our village and you will love it, 1km600 separates us from Kersiguénou as the crow flies but when the winds are to the west the song of the waves breaking on the beach lulls you. If you return at nightfall, you will be amazed by the lighthouses of the Ponant which alternately sweep your horizon, attentive sentinels for the sailors.
You are in the heart of the Peninsula equidistant from Camaret and Crozon.Camaret which was the first lobster port in France but which today is above all a stopover for boaters, Camaret where Saint Pol Roux lived, the ruins of its manor house sadden our gaze near the alignments of Lagad Yard. Crozon, the town where Louis Jouvet was born. Perros-Poullouguen is the ideal starting point for your excursions, so do not hesitate to contact us and... Have a good holiday.

The property was ideally situated in a very quiet rural location. However, it was central to all the sights, amenities and spectacular beaches on the Crozon peninsula, Comfortable, clean and warm Lovely outside area too.

Perfect stay in rural stone cottage close to beautiful beaches

We spent two wonderful weeks in Crozon. The house is lovely, basic but well equipped and very clean. There is a big terrace and huge garden where you can enjoy the rural seclusion. Nevertheless it is not far to many beautiful beaches and sights. It was definitely not our last time here! What could improved: The beds were all comfortable except for the one in the small room. This mattress definitely could be exchanged. Some deck chairs would have been nice to relax in the garden when the weather is so nice as it has been. Luckily we had a big picnic blanket with us that did the job.

Traditional Breton House, Beautiful location. Great Garden. Basic WC/Bathroom facilities..

We had a beautiful stay in Perros Poullouguen, we know and love the Presqu'ille de Crozon. The house was nice, in a tranquil location and well equipped, although the bathroom facilities are a little basic. The garden is great. I would just caution any visitors to beware, when leaving. We spent several hours cleaning this property to a high standard, only to have our deposit half-retained and told we had left it in a deplorable state by the owner, who lives on the other side of France. We know this was NOT the case, and wish we had taken photo's before we left as this would have proven it beyond doubt. Make sure you go around with the agents, each room and verify the condition before you leave: or, pay the cleaning bill in advance. It was a shame, we had enjoyed a lovely relaxing week, and this hostility from the owner has left us reeling.
