Prince Edward Island Hotel Travel Guide

Lush, sea-swept Prince Edward Island is a maritime Canadian paradise always special from late spring through mid-autumn. Prince Edward Island is known as the "Garden of the Gulf" of Saint Lawrence because its fertile soil makes the best local farmland. Travelers looking for cheap hotel deals in Prince Edward Island, however, will definitely find the vibrantly colored landscapes, the softly rolling hills, and the secluded shoreline coves cut below the shockingly red sandstone cliffs more enticing. The beautiful pastoral views from the island rooms are inspired by Montgomery's book series, Anne of the Green Gables.

To see some of the world's top most charming harbors, Prince Edward Island hotel packages can't be beaten. The port city of Charlottetown, the capital of the province, is the best location to shop for discount rates on hotels in Prince Edward Island. French and British influence is clear in the historic architecture of the city, which dates back to the time of King George's War.

From the Prince Edward Island hotels in Charlottetown, you can book lobster tours, take the shuttle to the world-famous harness races, and relive moments from colonial history as you stroll the streets on guided tours to visit magnificent stone mansions and gorgeous Victorian homes. Despite its historical roots, Charlottetown is a modern city with plenty of attractions and things to do. Tourists enjoy the brewery tours, theaters, boutique shops, and inspiring art galleries.

A cheap Prince Edward Island hotel deal from Expedia definitely doesn't restrict you to the city. Hop out of your hotel jog the Confederation Trail, board the boats for a cruise around the barrier islands, and discover more about Canada's unspoiled coast than you could have imagined. By day's end, you'll be hungry and ready for the sumptuous dining at some of the world's top seafood restaurants, which feature local, sustainable produce and fish straight from the boats just back from the clear, cold northern seas.

The unique red, salmon, and pink beaches you'll enjoy once you reserve one of Expedia's Prince Edward Island hotel deals make the trip to Canada worthwhile all on their own. The beaches are scrupulously clean and safe. Beachcombing turns up countless treats, including numerous species of starfish and the ever-elusive blue beach glass. The showstopper, however, may be the Singing Sands at Basin Head. The phenomenon may baffle scientists, but the lucky folks on the beach understand the tunes perfectly.

"Clean and cheaper that other places in the area"
The hotel was clean but dated. The free wifi worked very well. There were two chairs on the step outside each room, a picnic table on the lawn and a bbq (which I never used so not sure how well it worked or how clean). There was also a minifridge in the room which came in handy to put our leftovers and medication. The screens on the door and windows were partially off and there were spaces where it looked like you can see outside under the window and air conditioner. We didn't used the air conditioner but it seems the people in the next room used theirs as we could hear a loud humming or motor type sound coming from the room beside us. The hot water was scalding hot to the point of being dangerous especially to a child washing their hands. The water temperature also constantly went from scalding hot to cold in the shower every few seconds without touching the tap. Turning the tap only a small fraction led to either freezing or burning water. Overall, I would stay again as a stop over or to save money but would not recommend for an extended period.

This hotel is all about providing the little "extras" to make them stand out. Centrally located, within walking distance from everything. We loved the local beer wine happy hour, daily warm chocolate chips cookies to the friendly staff. We would stay there again in a heart beat.
