“Highly recommend to stay at Cromwell’s Tap House. It’s located in the heart of Shrewsbury, at walking distance of pretty much everything in town. Only 7 minutes from the train station. The rooms were located on the first floor above the pub. We heard no noise whatsoever, and only in the morning we heard some cars go by, but it was of no nuisance to us. “I booked the hotel to stay in for 3 nights with my daughter whilst I was playing in the Pickleball English Open in Telford. I always look for a pool and looking at some of the reviews this was a bit of a gamble, however it definitely paid off ! Yes, the hotel is a little dated and could do with some investment, however, it was clean, the suite size was very good and the price was great value. The pool was pretty awesome. It is in a separate wooden building and was really warm, with a jacuzzi....

“A simple hotel in the middle of Stourbridge. Rooms are adequate in size, the bed is comfortable and there's a good shower in the bathroom. There was a problem with my room but it got sorted quickly and the staff were excellent. Small changes in the bathroom would help - a shelf above the sink so there's somewhere to put your stuff and similarly a soap dish in the shower would be really useful.”

“Excellent service from check in to check out, rooms were big, rooms were serviced everyday and althoigh i didn't have dinner at the hotel the breakfast was excellent. Managed to use the gym, pool and steam room whilst staying at the hotel. When staying in Telford again i will make sure i book again at the Mercure. Very close to shops, restaurants and even a cinema across the road!”
