The Requa is a beautiful historic property in a serene setting. It’s not particularly convenient to other dining options; however the hotel serves a delicious breakfast! The staff was generally very friendly and helpful.

My girlfriend and I booked a last minute stay here. Everywhere around the Redwoods were all filled up and this was the only place available. We checked into the hotel around 10:30 pm which is 30 min after they lock up. We tried calling beforehand but service was spotty. We arrived at the Inn and were very happy and relieved that someone was at the front desk. The lady who we believe to be the owner seemed tired which we can understand. We were both apologetic and I made the comment of saying “everywhere else was busy and full” as I was referring to how a lot of hotels and Inn’s were fully booked. The owner’s response was “I don’t know why you told me that” with a scoff. I was confused at first because I didn’t know if my comment came off rude. She gave us our room key and continued to not be very welcoming to us staying there. The next 2 days we encountered her in the lobby and she would either give us dirty looks and not talk to us, or turn away and have her staff help us (which they were all very nice and greeted us very warmly). It seemed like she had it out for us, but we didn’t let it ruin our trip. As for the room itself, it had the basic bed, chair, and bathroom. No Tv which is fine. The room and hotel itself was creaky with every step you took but it was relatively clean. This is a beautiful area and historic building, but for the price of the room and cold hospitality I would stay at a hotel in Crescent City or just sleep in your car, it’s more welcoming.

I loved the old wood and the creaky sounds of the floors. You can feel the history of it. The river view is so soothing, and the Innkeepers spoiled us.
