Room was smelling clean and it was a good place to stay for the price we payed. Lobby and restaurant area was really cool to hang out. They served an excellent breakfast. I just got sad when after check out we noticed that a truck in the parking in lot had the side window broken.

Stayed here over President's Day weekend. When we arrived, we were allowed to check in early but was given a handicapped room. That would've been fine except the shower area was so small with a curtain and didn't seem comfortable so I asked to change rooms. However, when we changed rooms, we were given a room right behind the elevators! At first I didn't get why I kept hearing rolling sounds within the room and then realized it's the mechanics of the elevator. It was annoying at first but got used to it. However, with this room, the bathroom is positioned super close next to one of the beds. So it was not as 'comforting' to whoever is sleeping in the bed next to the bathroom (like a foot of space between the door and bed frame, probably). Also, I wasn't sure if we were supposed to be given complementary water bottles daily. On arrival, we had two bottles on our desk. Second day, one bottle. Third day, no bottles at all! Also, while valet parking is convenient, thought it was pricey.. It is $19 for Fri and Saturday, and then $29 for Sunday night if you stay til Monday. So i thought the Sunday price should be the same as Fri and Saturday's at least. Overall staff was nice and friendly but a bit disappointed with the rooms. I feel like we got the elevator hotel room and the handicapped room because we booked thru Expedia. It was nice they changed our room but the elevator room was ok.

So, I reserved my room through Expedia and when I arrived to check in, I was given a handicap room. No disrespect toward the disable but, I would have been nice to experience a room that you paid for. Although, my stay wasn't so nice, I really appreciate the staff for the accommodations.

Hilton Americas is a great hotel with all the amenities anyone could want. Definitely more of a business crowd here. Well run, professional service, large comfortable rooms. The social areas are nice maybe even elegant but for my taste lacks any distinct character.

The Houstonian is a fabulous facility with incredible amenities but it's the staff who really make it extra special! If you have the option of staying on the Concierge floor it is absolutely worth the small extra fee. Daniel was the Concierge in the Lounge and was so very kind, friendly and helpful. Our room attendant, Clarese, was on her game and was more than happy to bring us extra towels. She was a very happy person and seemed to enjoy her job. The Fitness Center offers countless (literally) classes which are complimentary with your hotel stay. We also visited the Trellis, which is the luxurious Houstonian spa, for a few hours of relaxation and lunch. You just won't find a better retreat in Houston!
