Aikane is Hawaiian for 'friendly' which best describes our delightful beach house. Ocean proximity gives you the convenience of a short walk to a variety of beaches. Walk past 2 homes to the ocean then along the coast past 3 more to reach the first of several beaches, body surfing, snorkeling lagoon and grassy play areas.

Cool and comfortable, I designed our home to harness cross ventilation from the cooling trade winds. Ceiling fans, quiet split-system ductless A/C and covered parking at your front door are especially nice on the warmest Hawaiian days.

Our home was extensively renovated including new windows, quiet split-system A/C units, thermal reflective roof, solar and more. This really is a cool place to stay.

Travel Light. Aikane is equipped with lots of beach stuff (beach chairs, coolers, sand toys, etc.). We recommend guests bring their own masks, snorkels, fins and life jackets, if desired, to ensure proper fit.

We also provide WiFi, 50 and 40 inch Roku/Smart TVs, drip coffee maker, full sets of bath and also beach towels, washer/dryer with detergent, and lots more.

Bedroom 1: king size bed with ensuite full bath and walk-in double shower.

Bedroom 2: 1 king bed OR convert to 2 twins upon request.

Bedroom 3: 1 king bed OR convert to 2 twins upon request.

For king beds, the twins are secured together with a special horizontal strap and center piece covered with a king size topper and quality bedding. They are very comfortable as confirmed by our many returning guests. We'll have everything set to your preference before arrival.

The 6 person maximum counts the youngest to oldest. We have bedding for 6 guests. No sofa sleepers or futons. Please read through the policies to be sure this is a good fit before booking.

Wonderful family vacation

This place was amazing! Steps from incredible snorkeling and boogie boarding with three kids ages 10-15. House was pristine and comfortable. We can’t wait to go back another time!

Great location.

Location was great. House was very spacious and comfortable. The kitchen lacked a lot of basic things needed for cooking (oil, etc.). Overall a comfortable stay and 2 minute walk from an amazing beach.

This was one of the best vacation rentals I've stayed in! The pictures do not do the view from balcony/deck justice. The property is a 4 minute walk to the beautiful Brennecke Beach (see photos) and maybe 10 minutes to Poipu Beach Park, with calmer waters and snorkeling. The house has everything you need for the beach. From sun products to outdoor showers, the house had it all. We even did yoga in the side yard in the mornings. Would definitely recommend this property to anyone visiting Kauai! Our group of 6 loved being so close to Old Kōloa Town and most activities were less than 20 minutes away.

Great Poipu house

Great beach house close to the ocean (15 second walk). Chris (the owner) was great and brought us fresh bananas, lemons, avocados and lychees! The house was well stocked for cooking and had all the beach gear you would need (boogie boards, snorkel, fins, mask, coolers , chairs, umbrellas , etc...) Awesome house!

Great five friends stay at Poipu

There were five of us staying in this wonderful home. the home was well-equipped with everything to prepare meals. There were plenty of beach toys. Nice having the line outside to hang our wet clothing. The outdoor tap/shower to rinse the sand off our feet. We loved the location near Brennecke Beach for boogie boarding, close to restaurants, the Heritage trail, and Poipu Beach. Watching the turtles come to shore at night. Chris was an excellent host.

Place is all anyone would want. View of ocean, close to beach like 3 houses. Boogie boards, fins, masks, flip flops, suntan lotion of all types, mustard, mayo, ketchup and most spices, puzzles for down time, lounge chairs for beach, umbrellas and cart to take all the stuff and much more. Air in all bedrooms and in living rm upstairs along with ceiling fans. Side patio downstairs with great breeze with table & chairs & upstairs sitting for 8 with 2 tables. Mahalo Chris. Everyone loved the place.

AMAZING HOME

This was the most amazing place. It fit all 6 of us perfectly! The view was fantastic! The amenities are too many to list... Kitchen is fully stocked with all the pots/pans, cutting boards, blenders etc. The View was amazing. The owners are great! We were in communication with them the entire time we were there. From my mom (71) to my daughters (21) we all loved this house! We all had our personal space and there are way too many extras to count! Thank you Chris and Theresa for the beautiful property and AMAZING stay!

Wonderful home and experience!

Wow! We can't say enough good things about this property. From the beautiful ocean views, short walking distance to popular beaches, wonderful home with everything you would need (including beach toys, beach wagon, snorkel gear, boogie boards, high chairs.... the list goes on and on) and one of the best parts - Chris (the owner) came to the house to harvest the ripe bananas, mangos and papaya that were surrounding the house for us to enjoy! Chris is a very personable and accommodating owner who was available for all our needs. We couldn't give this house enough recommendation. We won't be staying anywhere else when we come back to Kauai.

Very comfortable house

Chris's house is totally set up for the comfort of his renters and we really enjoyed his comfortable 3 bedroom home. From having 8 hanging beach chairs, lots of boggie boards, beach chairs, to large washer and dryer, to a Weber Bbq with 2 propane tanks, to comfortable beds, a nice set up kitchen, nice lanai and so much more. We do wish the refrigerator could have been colder as well as that the very loud garbage collectors out on the street (house's master bedroom is about 20' from the street) wouldn't start at 5am (not something Chris has any control over). While we were still traveling Chris text us that his house was ready about 4 hours earlier than we had expected. Throughout our 11 day stay his communications with us was excellent. It met all of our needs quite well and we hope to rent it again within 2 years.

Poipu Stay

Host was communicative during the tsunami evacuation. Fully stocked with snorkels, beach chairs, towels. Definitely not the Four Seasons but a very welcoming perfect spot for families!

FAMILY HOLIDAY

This rental is outstanding!!! The house is so close to Brennecke's and Poipu Beaches.Literally 4 min walk.The house is equipped with everything you will need. From anything beach related, to a well stocked kitchen. If you think you may have forgotten something in the way of toiletries, just look in the cabinet in the upstairs bathroom. it is stocked with everything. The house was very clean and well maintained. The owner Chris is the nicest man!!! We were welcomed with a basket with coffee and fruit. I really can't say enough good things about this rental except we didn't want to leave. Thanks again Chris!!

Location location location

This great property is located one block off the beach with many outstanding amenities. The two separate floors made it easy for our young granddaughter to sleep with a monitor while we viewed the ocean and whales from the patio. Chris is an excellent host that responds to any questions or needs you may have. Highly recommend

Amazing Location and House

Overall, the property had everything we wanted during our stay in Poipu. The house was spacious, clean and stocked with all the right amenities. It was walking distance to beaches and came stocked with everything you would need at the beach. The owner was very communicative and the checkin/checkout process was very easy. Would stay here again without a doubt.

A fantastic home 100 yards from the ocean!

This house was perfect for the 6 of us and the host Chris was so helpful and attentive. The house is 100 yards from the ocean and had all the amenities we needed. It is also stocked with plenty of beach chairs, boogie boards, snorkel gear, etc. Look no further for your place to stay in Poipu. I would absolutely recommend this house to anyone visiting Kauai.

Best Vacation Ever!

Lovely home to spend a week in Kauai. Clean and extremely well stocked with additional items typically not provided in rental properties (toiletries, paper products, number of beach chairs and umbrellas, beach towels, etc.) Chris (the owner) stopped by to bring us some fresh fruit and removed some ripe bananas from the property's tree. Along with the additional fruit we purchased, we make unbelievable smoothies during the week. The location could not be better. Two minute walks to see sunrises and sunsets at Poipu Beach. We drove over 800 miles during our 9 days visiting so many beautiful beaches, sites and hiked several half and all day trails. Also always fun to stop and shop at some great outdoor malls. We were so fortunate that the weather was perfect the week between Christmas to after New Years. Chris sent a thoughtful thank you text after our stay and we replied that we hope our future travels take us back to their home and Kauai. If you are thinking of staying at this home you don't be disappointed!

Kauai December Vacation

We chose this location because we read that good weather in the winter is on the South Shore and we were not disappointed. Brennecke's Beach for riding the waves was just a short walk and with a beach cart available it made carrying chairs, boogie boards, snorkling gear, etc (all of which Chris has available!) an easy trek. Poipu Beach located adjacent to Brennecke's is great for snorkeling. And the location is an easy drive from the airport as well as convenient to Costco and Walmart for grocery runs. Chris was a wonderful host and his place provided an inviting and comfortable place to stay during our visit. Should we find an opportunity to return to this beautiful island, we most certainly would choose to stay at Chris'.

Wonderful host

The house was beautiful -- clean, all the appliances worked and close to the beach. The host was truly outstanding. I had one minor problem, texted him, and he replied immediately and fixed it on our schedule. He also told us some history of Kauai only a local would know!

Loved it!

We really enjoyed our stay! The location is perfect with a quick walk to two of the best beaches (Brenneckes & Poipu). Plus the layout of the house is great (where the downstairs quarters could be completely secluded if one desires). The host was great and easy to work with. We already miss waking up to that ocean view every day!
