“I booked Hotel Villa Rica because the rate was reasonable for my stay in Rio. Based on the listing, I wasn’t expecting a luxury hotel, but I was disappointed by the overall condition of the property. The first room I was assigned was spacious, but the bathroom—particularly the shower—did not appear to be thoroughly cleaned, and the furniture was extremely dated and heavily worn. The bed consisted of what felt like a thin mattress topper on a platform and was very uncomfortable. After speaking……

“As camas estão em péssimo estado de conservação. Colchões deformados, roupas de cama manchadas também em péssimo estado de conservação para um hotel. O ar condicionado funciona bem. O banheiro atende às necessidades basicas. A localização é excelente para quem quer turistar. Ao lado da escadaria Selaron e a poucos metros dos Arcos da Lapa.”

“This is my second time at the national hotel, and for sure it won’t be my list, the staff is amazing. The room is amazing. They try to do everything in their power to accommodate you and make sure that you have a wonderful time, I love this place. I can’t wait to come back.”

“Very nice Hotel, really it os not beach front, but the closest to The beach can get, a main street away! It is an old property, the staff is very nice and helpful, the building is old and the elevators take a while. Location is great! Good place but pricy for the infrastructure.”

“The hotel was great except we were given a room with a the view that we had paid for. At the checkout, when asked, we were told that we should have asked at the checkout in, which makes no sense. The top floors are not blocked by the shorter buildings across. The elevator buttons were also flaky. They light up after the card scanned, and then they would go off. That happened half of the time. Otherwise, a great hotel in a great location and we had a great time.”
